The Ultimate Power In The Universe?

Eutrusca

If I can speak in all the tongues of men, and even in the tongues of angels, but not have love, I am no better than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have prophetic powers and understand all the secrets of the universe and possess all knowledge, and if I have such great faith that I can move mountains and change the course of rivers, yet have no love in my heart, I am nothing.

Even if I dole out everything I have to the poor and offer my body to be burned or used in medical research, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love endures long and is patient and kind. Love is never envious or jealous, is not boastful, does not behave in an arrogant or haughty manner.

Love is not conceited; love is not rude or unmannerly; love does not alienate others by acting in an unbecoming manner.

Love never insists on its own rights or its own way; it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or resentful or overcome with worry; it takes no account of any wrong or evil done against it.

Love never rejoices at injustice, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

Love bears up under everything that happens, is always ready to believe the best about every person. The hopes of love are timeless and undimed under all circumstances, and it endures everything without weakening.

Love never fades away or becomes obsolete. Prophecy will either come to pass or fail, then fade from memory; tongues will be stilled in death; knowledge will change with time and lose its value.

Yet faith, hope and love will always continue, these three; but the greatest of these is love. May it be your constant companion for the entire duration of your life!

Ut oh! We're ALL in trouble now! Heh!

I notice that you're in Holland, HC. My half-sister is somewhere in Amsterdam. I spend over ten years trying to find her, and when I finally did I got to meet her once before she left for Amsterdam. She was emailing me on a fairly regular basis from someone else's PC. I lost the email address when my computer was stolen a few years back, and haven't been in touch with her since. Sigh.

That's ok. I didn't expect that you would know her, but it sure would be nice to find her again.

Hell yeah, I heard that in the future they'll be able to use the power of black holes to generate enough for the world to use!

Naw, gravity is weak compared to electromagnetic forces. IMHO the ultimate power in the universe is the energy generated by fusion.

Yes, but you see, gravity is what allows matter to exist, if I understand correctly. Without it, atoms would not be as they are and the universe pretty much wouldn't exist. And, the most powerful direct forces we're aware of are black holes and supernovae.

Electromagnetic force is simply stronger than gravity. For instance, it keeps matter, which is mostly empty space, from collapsing into solid chunks under the force of gravity. Black holes are an exception because gravity is so concentrated there. It's like an elephant is stronger than an ant, but hundreds of billions of ants can move a heavier mass than a single elephant.

Your right, but do you think gravity is better than black holes?..Im unsure.

Ah, ok. I haven't gotten too insanely far in physics yet, though I do know more than most people I've run into. And hundreds of billions of ants could destroy the world! What I do have a good grasp of is myrmecology! It's actually quite interesting, one of the reasons that ants can lift such heavy weight relative to their body size and mass is actually because of exoskeltons, which give much greater leverage. This is true for all exoskeletal organisms.

Strong force, is many orders of magnitude more powerful than weak and feeble gravity.

Yes, but as the superstring theorists contemplate, it may be responsible for the birth of the universe as we know it today, and predates all the other forces.

Strong Force, man. Strong Force. Or residual color force, if that's your thing.

Responsible for making Strong Bad as awesome as he is, among other things.

No, seriously though. Strong force is the strongest of the four natural forces, I believe.

I'm waiting for a certain troll to come in here and start yapping that his god is the ultimate power in the universe, and that we should bow down and ..*cough* nevermind. Sorry guys. I'm just getting a little...well, pissed off. And there's not exactly a feasible way to vent.

*shakes her head* sorry for the little tangent.

Well, according to Q in Peter David's Q-In-Law, a nectarine contains all of the universes secrets...
However, I would have to agree; love truly is the ultimate power.

Since a recreation of the universe can be made from a small piece of fairy cake, I'm going to have to eliminate my previous answer of strong force and go with that one.
