Yay! :D

Thought you'd like that.
(Your post about golf got me to wondering if anyone had invented a version of full contact chess. Low and behold Google found it.)

Awwww... I was expecting life-sized chess pieces tackling each other in the proper formations... *grumbles*

and also
If the chess game ends in a stalement, the opponent with the higher score in boxing wins. If there is an equal score, the opponent with the black pieces wins.

....

Riiiiight... they could at least have said 'flip a coin' instead of just.... black wins if neither 'wins'.... daft I tell you...

I do remember an SCA event that was done something like that.

You're welcome. I thought it was pretty cool too. Too badf I just found out about it - I might have gone up to Tokyo for that.

What other safe games can we make full contact?

How about Candyland? That could be fun. Throw the kids into Molasses Swamp and laugh. :)

Snakes and Ladders could be much more interesting if played with real snakes and ladders.
Ditto for games like fox and geese and duck, duck, goose. :)
Oh, and I just realised that duck, duck, goose also sounds like a fun full contact game to play with a lady friend. :D

Man, when I saw "contact chess" I figured that they had a few dozen people suiting up, and if you were a pawn, you accepted the fact that some queen or bishop would get to wail the crap out of you.

Anyone seen the GPS PacMan "game" run over a couple city blocks?

Just googled it up and it appears that the Singapore military is using it as a training tool.
