many people say the thought of two gay people having sex or making out is repulsive

take this into consideration most of them are fat wrinkly pasty old guys... the thought of them humping away on some girl really sickens me more than two guys kissing

any thought or arguements on this?

lol... I dont know what type of gay people you have encountered... but trust me, most of them are not fat, wrinkly, pasty, or old. I would explain more, but you'll just have to trust me on this...

Actually, this has been a subject for a while.

Remember the Ellen Degeneres show? It was vastly popular and then it got a lot of heat because Ellen was going to come out of the closet on national television on a major network during primetime.

Huge deal. Lots of debates. People were going nuts and I believe it was Jerry Falwell who coined the phrase "Ellen Degenerate". Advertisers pulled their funding and all kinds of boycotts went in effect.

So, anyway, the episode aired.

Immediately following that episode was an episode of the Drew Carey Show. The opening scene of the DCS was big fat Drew Carey and his big fat girlfriend wallowing around in grotesque sexual acts while feeding and smearing food all over each other in front of the open refrigerator. Did anyone complain about that? Newp.

In short, Ellen coming out and saying she was gay while fully clothed and not so much as a handshake exchanged = bad. Drew Carey and a big fat chick wallowing around writhing and moaning while covered in food = good family fun.

God bless America.

It's known as the "ick factor." It's entirely perceptual reinforced by social and/or religious conditioning. Given that it is perceptual there is the question of the role of one's personal repsonsibility to be liberally minded. Simply put we are moving closer to a societal mindset where if you hold illusory, prejudicial beliefs you will be held accountable for those beliefs and all the "bible says this..." or "it makes me sick" will be no excuse.

I think he meant the people that say gay-kissing is repulsive are the ones that are often not incredibly attractive physically to him ;-)

I made a similar observation with a bunch of rednecks in the Jerry Springer show (IIRC) a few years back. Their daughter was going out with a 'filthy ******' as they put it, which had to stop since all black people were obviously inferior. Then the daughter and her boyfriend came in. He wore an excellent suit, had obviously spend quite some time in the gym and spoke like one would expect a university graduate to speak. Now guess what the rednecks looked like and how they sounded ;-)

Exactly, though it must be admitted that some people just aren't capable of understanding hetero- or homosexual relationships.
Both extremes on the scale can be equally alien to the other, by no fault of their own.
