Reading what you see on a forum and adopting those beliefs may be a sin to some here. Posting is a sin if your post is in fundamental disagreement with someone else's beliefs.

It's A Sin - Pet Shop Boys

When I look back upon my life
It's always with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too

It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin

At school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too

It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin

Father, forgive me, I tried not to do it
Turned over a new leaf, then tore right through it
Whatever you taught me, I didn't believe it
Father, you fought me, 'cause I didn't care
And I still don't understand

So I look back upon my life
Forever with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too

Whose definition of sin are you using?
My definition of sin is failing to do what God wants me to do, and I fail like that all the time, even though I've committed myself to following Jesus Christ.
The Bible says that "all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), so you're obviously not taking the Bible as being authoritative.
So, again, could you please give your understanding of what sin is?

Whose definition of sin are you using?
My definition of sin is failing to do what God wants me to do, and I fail like that all the time, even though I've committed myself to following Jesus Christ.
The Bible says that "all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), so you're obviously not taking the Bible as being authoritative.
So, again, could you please give your understanding of what sin is?

Well unlike you i am using the Bibles definition of sin and i don;t buy it.

What do you think the Bible's definition of sin is?

Greek word: hamartia means 1. to miss the mark, 2. to be in a state of imperfection. 3. to be lacking or missing something essential, 4. to not get the point

Thats not me.

Really? You believe you are absolutely perfect and complete, without error or misunderstanding?
My instant reaction is to find that overwhelmingly arrogant, but maybe I'm missing something (see defn. 4!).
Interestingly, I think you're defining sin exactly the same way I am, just in different language.

Nope...I believe EVERYTHING is absolutely perfect, complete and without error.

We have different points of view, I think everything is has it should be, i don't see anything wrong with the world, life or the universe...everything to me is going just fine, everything is good. Would I be presumptious to say that you most likely see the world and all of creation as flawed and corrupted?

It depends upon the religion. Most religions (including most Christian denominations) do not consider posting on a web forum per se to be an offense. Thus, whether or not posting something specific on a webforum is a sin generally depends upon whether saying that same thing out loud and in person is a sin. Proclaiming the glory of God on a webforum is not a sin. Discussing a secular topic on a webforum is not a sin. Claiming on a webforum that God does not exist is a sin. Posting a threat against someone else on a webforum is a sin (and probably a violation of the Terms and Conditions of whatever webforum it is you're posting on).

The Amish have a ban on all recent technology; it's use is a sin. ...but you wouldn't be posting on this site at all, if you were Amish.

In Catholicism (and any other Christian demonimations where Lent is practiced; I don't know if that's all the denominations), posting on a forum during Lent* is a sin if and only if you chose to swear off any use of computers or webforums for the duration of Lent.

You're right, we do have different points of view.
I do not think everything is as it should be, I see plenty of things wrong with this world, and I don't think everything is going just fine. I am certain that not everything is good.
I do believe that there is good in the world, but that, yes, the world and all of creation are flawed and corrupted.
I believe God is carrying out His plan to put creation right again, and I believe He's chosen me to work with Him, along with everyone else who trusts in Jesus Christ.

Well, if by posting you are ending life or harming someone, it is a sin. But posting itself is not a sin. Unless you are posting kiddy porn, or your computer is made of meat byproducts.

And you called me arrogant? How do you think that sounds to non-christians when you say things like that?

In regars to the sin thing---its the whole water glass debate---is it half-full or half empty...to me it would be half full whereas to you pessimist that you are--half empty

I'm not setting myself up in a special category here; I think this applies to all Christians equally. For those who aren't Christians, they don't think my worldview is accurate, so why are they (including you) upset if I believe I'm on God's side? You can be as well, if you want to.
Please explain the relevance of the water glass containing 50% water and 50% air. It doesn't seem a good model for talking about perfection; you claimed that you are perfect, and that everyone and everything else is as well.

Fair enough, we are a little off topic. I'll see you on Ghannas Desh's "Your beliefs are wrong" post, unless you have a preferred suggestion.
For the record, I believe the sin or sinlessness of a forum post depends on whether God agrees with what the poster posts.

You look at me but you don't see
Understand I'm a sinner
Don't corner me
Don't lecture me
Raise your hands you're a sinner
Is this everything you wanted find another dream
You never hear a word I say
So pray

sin1
n.
A transgression of a religious or moral law, especially when deliberate.
Theology.
Deliberate disobedience to the known will of God.
A condition of estrangement from God resulting from such disobedience.
Something regarded as being shameful, deplorable, or utterly wrong.

intr.v. sinned, sin·ning, sins
To violate a religious or moral law.
To commit an offense or violation

Well.. according to this definition posting on the forums is a sin IF all of the following conditions are met:
a. You write down G-d with an o on the place of the - in a post.
b. You consider the above word to be a name.
c. You believe that Deuteronomy 12:3-4 states (amongst other things) one should not erase the name of the supreme being.
d. You are aware that posts get deleted automatically, so by posting the name you put it up for deletion.

Interesting observation: this would mean that almost all of the people who post inflammatory articles on this board in name of G-d/Christ are in fact sinners themselves. Unless they have one of the translations where this passage is translated completely differently of course.
Aren't translation errors in commandments fun ?

This was your token serious post in a silly topic.

Posting on the forum is not a sin in itself. However, it is possible to sin while posting.
