Borders, language, and culture define a country in the same way that hating people who think diffrently defines a religion. It just shouldn't be so, and it isn't true. Unless, of course, you're a Nazi.

It all boils down to the fact that every politiction is the same, they are aristocrats. Bush is better then Kerry who is better then Bush. Both candidates sucked, and at least Bush can't run again, where kerry would have.

I think there should be an ammendment where the USA can vote for 4 years without a President, and then see if they ever want one again. Though I would bet the Senate would over turn it because with out a President, they wouldn't have a scape goat to blame for all the dumb laws they pass.

People voted for Bush because their top issue was "moral values" as opposed to something that actually means something, like the economy, the war in Iraq, or terrorism. If people voted for Bush and their top issue was terrorism or Iraq, I would understand. If they voted for him because they like tax cuts, I get it. But when people would rather keep gay people from marrying and desperate teenagers and rape victims from getting abortions than make a decent living for themselves and have a strong dollar and the world's respect, that's more than a bit frightening. Say what you will about the peopel getting what they want; the U.S.'s priorities are ridiculously misplaced.

The South, which once stood for states' rights, anti-federalism, and whatever else, now has the nation by the balls. And they are hardly the states' rights party anymore. I am not even sure if there is one now, not that i give a damn since i favor people's rights far more than states' rights. That said, the Republicans and the South hardly give a damn about either now. The South was once on the defensive, forced to stick together to avoid being eaten alive by the rest of the nation. Now it's almost impossible to be elected President unless you're from the South. Reagan did it, but come on; he was following Carter, who fucked up Iran. Nixon did it, but he followed LBJ, who fucked up Vietnam. Plus, not counting the fuckups, both of them ran against Northerners (Humphrey, McGovern, Mondale...I don't count Carter because he fucked up Iran.) Kennedy beat Nixon, who doesn't count either since he was not a Southernet. Eisenhower was a war hero and running against Adlai Stevenson, who was from Illinois and couldn't even win his home state.

The poitn of this is simple: The South is in power now and can shove their authoritarian, theocratic hogwash down the rest of the nation's throats, make "liberal" a dirty word, make "moral values" more important than security, sound foreign policy, a strong economy, and respect in the world, and not only throw their weight around domestically but practically control the climate of the world. The world believes that the President of the U.S. is ultra-powerful and effectively controls the world. Well, the South controls the U.S., and if the U.S. controls the world, the South controls the world. The same South that once preached anti-federalism, term limits, and limited government when it was at a disadvantage now fights for the opposite.

Lead them well during a time of war = Getting them into a stalemate position in Iraq

Economic Progress = From what I hear, he's bankrupting America.
