Who's Started a Cult?

Has anyone here ever started their own alternative religion? For a time, I was the Supremus Maester Triumvir Opticon Maximus of the Buddhalgohovan Church. We taught that Santa Claus was actually a demon (Sandy Claws) who was left on Earth after enslaving the elves in the Great War of Five Hundred Years Ago and nearly defeating Siddhartha Jehammed. We wound up with seventeen hierarchy (including two popes, a goddess, the three Triumvirs, and a slew of Rooks, Arch Rooks, and one ArchArchArch Rook) and a member, and a pamphlet, which laid out in detail our plan to assault Santa's fortress on the south pole with our robot army armed with "Impotency Rays." The reward for a lifetime of belief in Buddhalgohova was repaid by an eternity of blissful slavery as one of Buddhalgohova's combat robots. An evil life would condemn one's soul to the near-perpetual irritation of (Name Pending) a hell-like place that we could never decide upon a name for. It was lorded over by Captain Destructo, and his right hand man Lex Luthor, the President and Vice President, respectively, of (Name Pending).

Sadly, the Church, despite surviving a five-way schism and reunification, ended abruptly when it stopped being funny anymore.

A cult!?! Who needs the excess baggage? All those followers would just get in my way. If everyone around me believed what I did, I'd just get annoyed and tell 'em to get lost...

I once, as a joke, created the Christian Anti-Messianic church--for followers of Christ who reject the notion that he was the Messiah.

It was a satire of Messianic Judaism.
