It doesnt matter if (s)he's a Republican, Democrat, Independent, Green, Libertarian, Constitution, Reform, Idiot, or Nutjob... it's our civic duty to criticize the president, otherwise the politicians win.

Anyone else agree?

Indeed - one of the founding principles of this country was that our government be scrutinized by its people so that it may never become what was seen as tyranny under George III

Or in today's case...George II

Absolutely. There will always be those, however, who use this civic responsibility as an excuse to make irresponsible accusations, just as there will always be those who irresponsibly fail to question anything their government says.

No, he's obnoxious, the chick who just scooped a fetus out of her murder victim is 'evil'.

I'd like to propose that there are two kinds of people; those who call those whose politics they don't agree with "evil", and people with IQs above 25

I agree if we are strictly talking about someone that willingly becomes a public figure. I think without critisization to them, they would never know what is wrong with thier policies or positions. Private figures do not need critisization by anyone but God and those that are public should be critisized by everything and anything!

It is absolutely everyone's civic duty to be critical of the man we have *hired* to do the job. If you're the boss (we're supposed to be in a democracy), it's unpatriotic to sleep on the job.
If this were a totalitarian government, your only job as a citizen would be blind adoration.

I think it was FDR who had a quote that said something like "It is un patriotic to not criticize the president..." something like that.

It's true, our country was based upon the principles of being able to not agree with our leader. And how is disagreeing with something un-american?

no, i dont agree, in fact i think its stupid to look for flaws where there might not be any. and i also think that being the president is probably the most underappreciated job there is, becuase no matter what party you are theres always going to be assholes critisizing you, etc.

Or not. Michael Moore has opinions backed up with facts that he expresses through cinema. If you don't believe they are facts, check his website http://www.michaelmoore.com/ there is a line by line fact backup of Farenheight 9/11.

I for one like Michael Moore. His movies are moving and funny, and I'm gonna keep watching, i'd advise the rest of you to do the same, lest GW crown himself King and no one notice.
