I am a US citizen nearing draft age. But why should I worry? Bush, mein führer, will keep me safe. Or else I'll get a student deferral or join the Coast Guard.

I am American, though maybe not for too long. And I despise Bush and would laugh if he went insane. But not if he got killed. Not fun enough.

It amazes me how many folks will rail on against the US. Oh how great and terrible we are. Until you need our protection, financial assistance or trade agreements. We are the country that you all love to hate. Well, fine.

Isn't it nice that you all are able to use the internet? It was developed here, you know. I heard that Al Gore invented it. I don't think that is true, but you have the FREEDOM to use it, and use it for relatively free speech. Free speech! Who would have thought of such a thing? Come on, now. You know who... that's right, the US.

So, say what you will, you REALLY want to be just like us. That is why you hate us. Jealousy. Plain and simple.

And... Saying you want the Commander in Chief dead is not something you'd really want transferred over the internet, especially through the international ECHELON system, which monitors all data and voice transfers across the US, Great Britain, Australia, and a few other countries. And since your computer has a unique address (IP Address), they can track your IP to your residence. Again, not a good idea to go blurting out things like that on the internet.

I dislike "internationalists" - people who try to pretend they're not of any people, any nationality, any identity. That's the idea of Communism with the big C. Americans don't do that, and they're right in doing so. But I've noticed that some do: they say things like "in my country" without saying which. It's not always necessary, but it gets annoying, because then they force you to ask: "and which country is that?"

Interestingly, there are only people from USA, Canada, the UK and Finland here, if you trust this thread.

I don't want to defend the country so much, as to keep up a family tradition. All of my male relatives, on my dad's side went to the Marine Corp, unless they were defered for health reasons. So my Grand father and all five of my uncles and my dad. My Great grandfather isn't included because he was an Immigrant from Ireland married to an Irish Girl. My Grandmother had an Irish father and a Mother from South Carolina. And thats enough of my family history.
