Why did you vote for Bush?
Why did you not vote for him?

(asking out of curiousity.)

Because I'm a stupid foreigner with a midget for a leader.

And Bush isn't? Need I remind you that they're both politicians? They make their living being lying, amoral, opportunistic sacks of shit.

Because you are not American and things work differently in our country. If you were born and raised here you might have a better understanding why.

I may not like the leader of another nation. In fact, I think he is an ass. But, i do not however question the intelligence of the citizens of said nation because i do not live there. I do not know how they do things. I do not know how they think.

There were more issues at hand than morality in the last election. Some people voted for Bush because they hated Kerry more. They may have voted for Bush because they believe in capitalism rather than socialism. Others voted for Kerry because they thought the opposite.

Noone has ever claimed Bush is the Son of Man. Noone even thinks that (unless they are crazy). More people voted for Bush and they had different reasons. Since you live in another country, you might not understand all of the issues. You just hear what you see on CNN. Learn more before you question.

We call them socialist for lack of a better term. They are not capitalists and they believe in some social policies.

Here or there? Past or present?

Current liberals in America would be seen as slightly conservative or moderate in Western European nations. They believe in a mixture of capitalism and socialism. They are also big on certain civil liberties (the conservatives believe in the others) and are into taxation to fund social programs.

Basically, just slightly different in some aspects. The media makes it seem like two extremes but that is not true.

I didn't vote for him because I disagree with 85% of his platform, 90% of the way he handled the issues he did manage to address at all, and I can't get excited by his public speaking in the slightest, which means I can't imagine him as a good leader, just a puppet for a cadre of unelected DoD officials with unimaginable power, no scruples, and no accountability.

In reality, the Republican party is not to far away from this. They believe in different civil liberties but the party still uses socialism mixed with capitalism.

Well, nothing that they alone have but they share some. Republicans will never get rid of social security, welfare, minimum wage laws, and labor laws. They are not the capitalists that the media and liberals make them out to be.
