Alright, I know there are a few people online who will participate in this.

Here's how it goes, I post a song that I like or think someone else should hear, you download, tell me what you think, and then post one that you think I will like.

I'll start with:
The Decemberists - Shiny (off of 5 Song EP)

I can't find that song on Limewire...

I'm using LimeWire and I found 11 sources.
I'm sharing it myself.

You have The Decemberists as the artist right?

Oh, I had it as "Decembrists" like the old Russian revolutionary group.

(Though the amount of sources it'll find will vary from country to country)

Downloading now, it'll be 5 mins or so.

That track wasn't bad. It could grow on me.

Now, my turn :D

Kyuss- Gardenia.

You really need to hear that whole album to really appreciate it, but that's the first song so I figure it doesnt matter :)

Ahhhh, Kyuss, you like the more "aggressive" music.

I only know these guys as the band that became QOTSA, but this song is pretty cool, harder than QOTSA, and that guitar is bad ass, is it Homme? The vocals sound like Scott Weiland.

You might know this one:

And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - How Near, How Far

It is a lot heavier than the first one I posted, it may be my favorite song ever.

Yup, it's Homme on guitar (He was actually only 21 at the time, and 18 when their first album came out), but the vocalist is named John Garcia. Thaa'ts probably the most agressive song on that album- there are a lot of acoustic parts as well (the whole album is divided into 3 large tracks though they played the songs seperate live. Try the song Space Cadet, it's a lot more mellow)

I do know the band, but not that song. I'll check it out.

Okay. Got all three songs so far. He is my suggestion:
I Hate Myself - Caught in a Flood with the Captain of the Cheerleading Team
For those really bad days. :(

EDIT: I just searched for it and its seems hard to find.

... John Garcia

I've actually never heard any of his Kyuss stuff but he was brilliant in Born Too Slow by The Crystal Method.

Since I'm opposed to illegal music downloads I'll direct you all here (http://www.alphaconspiracy.com/mp3/) and recommend you dl "Close" and/or "Wishing Never". The artist is The Alpha Conspiracy.

It's got a cool title, but I have a nagging feeling it's emo :p

I found one copy, but it was a modem user and I get the "waiting for busy hosts" message.

Didn't know Garcia sang on a Crystal Method song, i'll check i out.

Well, it is emo in the old sense and not that new and even more whiny style. I think it fits into the hardcore catergory though.
