sorry that biatch just came out of nowhere.

THE RING OF GYGES
In Plato's Republic, one of his opponents thought of this ring called the ring of gyges. The ring makes you invisible (yes, like LOTR but without the corruption bit) if you turn it upsidedown on your finger...

What would you do if you stumbled upon the Ring of Gyges right now?

I will tell you what I would do...I would do a lot of very bad things...most of them including theft, spying, hurting and fucking around w/ people, and probably some very sexually-driven things. Im being honest, and honestly i think i would.

what would you do?

Tell you that your ideas of hedonism are wrong because good and evil cannot coexist, and that since pleasure and pain can, you cannot be true. Then I'd mention something about a three leveled soul.

that is precisely Plato (or to be more accurate, Glaucon) is arguing. If one can get away with an 'injustice', we'll do it - regardless of the concequences; the just and the unjust man act, and essentially are, the same. Do we therefore only act morally out of fear?

Seriousness aside, I'd definatley use it for theft, spying etc... for this exact reason.
or even better work out how it works and sell the secret to the highest bidder...$$$$$$$$$$$$
