Why did that one place put stickers on textbooks that discussed evolution?

As I recall, it said something along the lines of how evolution is just a theory, and should be viewed with an open mind. Why not have similar stickers that say the same thing about the theory of relativity, or the wave theory?

Because religious people in Cobb County don't understand science. They believe that those other theories are actual tried and true, hard and fast *facts*, while evolution (which they set up as a false dichotomy against their religion) is "just a theory." What they fail to realize is that *everything* in science is "just a theory" and should be "viewed with an open and critical mind."

It hurts their middle class suburbian caucasian protestant minds.

Why not?

Because, by definition, a theory is not unchangeable. Putting these stickers on is like putting stickers that say "CAUTION: Poisonous" on a bottle of rat poison. (Yeah, I know they already do this. No idea why.)
