I think it is because like Australians, the British/Irish/Scottish etc are for the most part brought up with very good manners. Overall we are taught from a young age to respect women, elders and ourselves. (I'm not saying All Americans don't have respect here so don't think that)

It could also be the accent. My Accent isn't too bad, not as hard as Steve Irwin; in fact some people asked if I was born outside Australia :D

The British, Scottish, and Irish accents are top stuff. My Mum descends from Scottish heritage so my Nana and Pop can pull it off pretty well. My Dad descends from Britain but he speaks with the Australian accent too.
