Is rape ever justified? What if there was only one woman left alive on earth, no means of in vitro fertilization, and she was a lesbian.

Well, with only one woman left, the race is dead anyway. She can't have more than maybe 50 kids throughout her lifetime, and thats with her perpetually pregnant and with lots of multiple births. So we all die out due to inbreeding.
:EDIT: The average woman is fertile from age 12 to age 45 or 50. So say she bears kids between the ages of 15 and 45. That's 30 childbearing years. Which is 40 pregnancies, if you allow her a week between each birth and the next fertilization. Allowing for a high number of multiple births, you can get to 50.

I don't think it is ever justified. If you're a religious person in most cases, it's wrong. If not, what does it matter one way or the other?

So, humanity gets itself into such a state, that it no longer has a workable population... well, let it die out, then.

Maybe it's my English upbringing, but, if there was one woman left alive, and she didn't want heterosexual intercourse... the ravening hordes would have to get me out of the way first.

Oh, and if we allow the woman to give birth early every time, then we might get to as many as 70-80 kids. This is still counting for a lot of multiple births, though. And kids born that early usually turn out wrong anyway. (mental problems, physical defects, etc)


Even if she has 70 healthy kids by 70 different fathers, that's too little genetic variation. We're all dead.

No, rape is never justified. If we ever get into that state, it would be best for humans to die out gracefully.

You can tell this is a bunch of men talking... ;) Just because you have a child does not mean that you would ovulate the next month. Plus, if she were to ever breastfeed, that would possibly keep her from ovulating also for 3-6 months. If you don't ovulate, you can't get pg, so chances are even if she were healthy she would be able to have less children than you are estimating. Additionally, even if she were to get pg, slightly less that 25% of pregnancies are aborted before the woman even knows she is pregnant.

Didn't think about the not ovulating thing... anyway, those were all my high estimates. And I was counting on not having to breast-feed the kids, as that gave me higher numbers. I know that they were completely unreasonable, but *shrugs*

Well like everyone else said let humanity die out, but in that dire a situation I think even a lesbian would sleep with you willingly.
