Would you sacrifice your life for your national leader?

Well, would you?
And when you vote, could you please say where you're from. I want an idea of which country's people would be more likely to do so.
Personally, I'm British, and no, I wouldn't.

Ha. No. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Should I be drafted, I'd go to jail before going to war. That situation isn't even a guarantee that I'd die, and my national leader is in no danger whatsoever. Frankly, he should be drafted. Good ol' "War Pigs."

I'm British, and in a word, no, not just because I'm ant-Blair (hell I'm ant the lot of them).
I'd only willingly sacrifice my life to protect someone I love.
HELL NO, but I'd sacrifice a leader to save my own.

No need to. Just tell them the minute your in, you're starting your own bukkake cocksucking club. Then you're out again before you knew what happened.

United States, and effing hell no.
Especially considering they're only in power, legally, for 8 years, the only presidents I'd even consider risking my life for are long dead, and even then it's largely due to them supposedly being family (and being actually non-evil, from what I'm aware).
I'd use someone as worthless as Bush as a meat shield to protect a box full of kittens far sooner than I'd risk so much as a flesh wound for him.
Die for Tony Blair?! I wouldn't die for any leader, let alone him.

Yes, I would, but only because of my training and background, and because I've already lived most of my life and this would be a final act of service to my Country, the USA.
Besides, I believe in reincarnation and am going to come back as a fabulously wealthy rock star! :D

Well, like the soldier's oath says, "I will defend the inviolability of my fatherland, its legal social order and the legal government" (or something like that, crappy translation).
Of course, sacrifice is a pretty harsh word... Fight for our way of life etc., yes, sacrifice my life for the president, hell no.

For my family and loved ones, I would sacrifice my life.
For a national leader, in my instance Blair, no.
He is a shrivelled up retracted scrotum and has the intergrity and honour of one.
That is to say, none at all.

Holland, and NO FRIGGIN WAY! Not for this loser of a prime-ministerHow about your Queen?I speak for Britain (well, for me, but in relation to the British setup, juxtaposed against the Dutch setup I'm replying to) and I echo the "not for Blair" comments but I think I would, given the right circumstances, for the Queen. It'd be a "for Queen and Country" situation, not necessarily for her as a person.
I don't know if this is because I count myself as more Royalist than Republican (marginally), or because "We can always get a new PM, monarchs don't grow on tress" (save for family trees... :)) or just because.
If I didn't have time to think about it I could go either way [FX: slow-motion dive in front of PM at split-second's thought, while in a parallel universe I stand dumbfounded as the gunman rushes past me and attacks Her Majesty] and I can't really say what circumstances might get me into either those or a long-decision situation... I'm not military (and not planning to be) so it'd take a shake-up to include any sort of situation where I'm in HM Armed Forces.

I'm one of the people that said it depends on the circumstances. Not simple for protection of his life. If him living somehow protected something of higher moral value or if it was also a means of protecting my family perhaps.
Would I die for good old George? No, in fact he'd be doing more of a service for the country by sacrificing himself to save me. In any case I'm from the US of A(if you hadn't guessed already).
This guy in office in Washington right now? You're kidding, right?
I mean, maybe if someone was in office who actually was those really odd things people frown upon in American politics, example, COMPETENT, maybe ETHICAL... I'm not about to vindicate the illusion of the infallibility of the President, or of the Union.
Even then there'd be some predicate questions - I'm not disposing of this life unless there's something to be gotten after it, for example...
As the situation stands now, though, not a chance.

Yes, I would. Regardless of who was president of the U.S. I would sacrifce my life for many people, people in my family, people i know, hell, many I don't know. There are some I would not, but i think it is the ultimate act of love.

I'm from the US, and for Bush, not a chance. For Clinton I may have, and even for most other Presidents maybe. I voted depending on the circumstances. I suppose there's a chance that there could be some twisted situation where I would, even for Bush.

Do you mean sacrifice your life to protect their life? Or do you mean sacrifice your life because they asked you to?
If you mean sacrifice my life to save theirs, the U.S president, yes I would. The leader of China or Canada? No (Chinese background, dual American-Canadian citizenship). Now Canada... if Harper had been elected PM instead of Martin... then the answer would be yes. Again, if China didn't have the communist party in power... then maybe.
If you can't tell I identify much more closely with the United States....
Now if you mean just cuz they randomly asked me to... it depends on the reason behind it. If it was like a draft, then I would definitely (although there's no guarantee 100% that you're going to die in a war).
So... countries for me
American: Yes
Canadian: No
Chinese: No

If Bush was going to get shot, I'd leap in front of him in a flash! That goes for any other national leader that protects the free nation that I know and love with all my being, regardless of hair-splitting and logic-chopping about stupid cliches and worthless political parties.
Well . . . I wouldn't do it if I didn't like them that much.
