Rudolfensia's Talking Points of the Week.

This is thread where I will bring up different stuff that is happening.

To start off:

1. Cell Phone Tax?
Yes you read that right. The states and Congress are discussing imposing a 21.7% users tax on all cell phones in the United States. I say these people are looney. What they proposing will harm the US economy. The tax is way too high and make it where only the rich can afford to have cell phones. People will not be able to make those emergency work calls while at lunch or on the road.
The good news is that the cell phone industry wants you to call your congressman and tell him you are against the tax.
I say, nuts to the tax supporters.

2. Media Backfire?
Apparently voters thought that conservative bias of Fox News Channel was a liberal conspiracy to smear Bush. According to November poll, in US News and World Report, 68% of voters said they thought that all media was biased and unfairly trying to influence the election. They noted that liberal bias of stations like MSNBC and CNN and said they thought the conservative bias of FOX was an attempt by liberals to smear the US government because FOX NEWS CHANNEL is owned by an Australian. Respondents claimed that Australia was as liberal as Europe.
I wonder what would have happened if the stations had taken the opposite stances? Though clearly they were heavily biased for one candidate or the other. But that's what foriegners get for trying to illegally influence another nation's elections.

3. In November, Linda Ronstadt said that the American people were a bunch of Hitlers. She was expressing outrage that Americans reelected Bush.
I think Mrs. Ronstadt needs to stick to what she knows, which is singing and not government or public policy.
What say you? Do you think the election proves that all Americans are Hitlers?

4. Senator Fritz Hollings was qouted as saying "Now we've got 15 or 17, and you can't shut them up." He was referring to women while talking about changes that occured during his 38 years in the Senate.
What say you to this. Do think his comments were offensive? Do think he was right on the mark?

5. You Were Born To Run.
A new report by a group of anthropologists states that humans evolved into the modern form by running long distances. And it is running that has determined how modern people look. Dennis Bramble a biologist at the University of Utah notes "We are very confident that strong selection for running was instrumental in the development of the modern human body form." Among the traits scientists point out as proof: spring like leg and foot tendons, skeletal and muscle features that make the human body stronger, stabler, and more able to run efficiently. These are things not found in any of the other primates.
Something else that humans have that primates don't: asses.
Scientists note that the evolution of the human buttocks may have contributed most to humans ability to run and stand upright. Notes Bramble in his interview with US News and World Report: "Have you ever looked at an ape? They have no butts. Padded buttocks is what keeps you from pitching over one your nose each time a foot hits the ground while you jog."
You mean the purpose of the buttocks is not so you can have something to sit on while playing playstation. Sorry guys, looks we was wrong, the female buttocks wasn't evolved just for us to grope. :) (can't find smilie for joking.) Wonder if this means we are exercising our buttocks everytime we run. What say you to this finding?

Ok now you read the talking points, now what you say to these events?
Here are the rules:
1. I don't respond to other people's posts unless its a question or I have a question for them.
2. No one responds to other another's post except to ask or answer a question.
3. The above should keep flaming to a minimum.
