I'm sorry, this makes me so, so upset and angry, but I really need to vent somewhere.

I know someone, called Emily, from another online community who gradually began to disappear from the internet a while back. She's in her early 20s, and most of her life had been awful because she's inflicted with a rare and horribly misunderstood condition - transsexuality. Fortunately she was able to begin taking hormones and is now for all intents and purposes a normal looking woman. I assumed that things were going well for her (and they were) and didn't really worry about her going missing, although I missed her a little because she was a nice person.

I understand though why she's been unable to access the internet for so long though. Before, she was at least still around occasionally before she disappeared completely...

Well, first of all, I've been self-medicating. I started officially enough but ran out of money.... so I did things myself. I had to renew my license last week but since I'm kinda all femalish now they wouldn't let me do it without a letter from a shrink, which I don't have. My car lost its catalytic converter, so I lost my car last week too.

My landlors gave me the ultimatum of getting rid of the cats or moving out, so I dumped my cats off in the woods on the last day I could drive. Landlord toured the house, found out it smelled like cats, and is now throwing me out. Without the car I can't get to my jobs. And all this happened on my B-day. Yeah. My friends dragged me to the hospital so I wouldn't kill myself.

So she can't get a license she needs to get a decent-paying job she needs to get her license changed so she can get a decent-paying job.

She can't even move to another country, should she somehow make enough money to do so. Or rather, she can, but under US law birth certificate laws are determined by the birth state...and the US has treaties with most nations that gives US laws precedent in many situations. Birth records is one of them.

The United States, land of the free and the brave. Well, this is one person who's *fucked*. I feel awful on her behalf, and can do absolutely diddly squat. The world sucks.

She has a bit of a support system it seems, in her friends. Can they do nothing to help her??

She can't afford one...ultimately, because she doesn't have one.

I think she might, hopefully, be able to pull through in the short term with the help of her friends. As for the long term...who knows?

Ahhh, maybe "she" should plan a little bit in the future + save some rainy day funds.

What they dont have transit in her town, I didnt read the whole thing, maybe she explained that.

Its tough to feel that sorry for a person who is trying a self sex change, I mean just be gay...
