You can narrow it down quite a bit with this little guy 'ø'. It's used in Germanic languages, mostly Scandinavian. You can knock Finnish (Suomi) off the list because there's not enough double vowels. I haven't seen a sentence that long in Suomi that didn't have double vowels or worse, double umlauted vowels (I still think they're unnatural).

Could be a typo, could also be an unusual dialect I guess. Did you try the other words in the sentence or just the one from the thread title?

tried the whole sentence in a translator....

from what i can tell something about

London, River, Military, Sucks.

But those words were all from different translators. But the london and military seems to be constant.

It is Faroese. He asks if there are any Faroese her, because looking at names there should be one or two

As he said it's faeroese - or a variation of old norse (old norwegian) if you want to call it that.
The Faeroes was populated by viking settlers who brought with them their own language from Norway. The language in Norway itself has changed in the 1200 years since then, but on the Faeroes and Iceland variations of it have stayed on.
It has quite a similarity to modern norwegian and can (with some difficulty) be read by one who knows a scandinavian language.
As I'm a norwegian I would translate it like this:
Hvussu nógvir føroyingar halda til her? (Are there any faeroeans here?) Haldi meg lesa útfrá nøvnunum á summum londum at her eru ein ella tveir. (Judging by the names used there should be one or more of you here.)

The same text in norwegian would be:
Hvussu nógvir føroyingar halda til her?
- Noen færøyinger som holder til her?
Haldi meg lesa útfrá nøvnunum á summum londum at her eru ein ella tveir.
- Har lest meg utfra navnene noen bruker at her er en eller flere.

PS. The letter Ø is actually only used in norwegian and old norse. In the other scandinavian languages the same letter is written Ö.
The words London and military does not figure anywhere in the text :p

PPS. I do not speak faeroese so there is room for faulty translation here. I've only tried to read it from a norwegian viewpoint.
