Quick tutorial on how to make a post with a poll ...

Making a New Post with a Poll:

Step 1

Create a new post by clicking on the button marked "New Post".

Step 2

Enter your post!

Step 3

If you scroll down before submitting your post, you will see the "Additional Options" menu.

Click the box next to "Yes, post a poll with this thread" and place the desired number of options in the box below that.

Click submit and you'll be taken to a poll dialogue.

Some hints:

1] Your post will be seen by others as you are making the poll. It is a good idea to put in the message body the following words: Poll Pending.

2] Think about what you want in your poll before you post it. NS General is a great place to have a seemingly harmless poll ripped up and spit upon rather quickly by text lawyers. ;)

Making an image appear within a post:

Step 1

Have an image ready on an all access URL. There are places on the internet that allow you to link to images of your own upload, or you can steal bandwidth from some other site if you find an image you decide would be pleasing for others to see.

Step 2

Make a post by either clicking "New Post" or by replying to an already existing thread.

Step 3

Open a browser window to the image you want people to see. (Example: Mozilla)

Note the URL listed in the box! (Example: http://www.unlc.biz/Tutorial/example.jpg)

You can highlight this URL, select copy (ctrl-c for most computer users), and return to your message window.

Step 4

Click the button to add an image to your post!

A little box will pop up and all you need to do is paste your image URL into that box and hit Enter. Then submit your post!

Step 5

Sit back and enjoy the kudos on your fabulous forum skillz.

Have fun!

Some hints:

1] Some folks have dial-up. Try to keep images small.

2] Don't be vulgar and post exploded bodies or graphic porn. Keep with the forum rules.
