Nick Griffin, head of the British National Party, is one of the most despicable people in England. And now hopefully, if anything is sacred, he'll be arrested, charged, and put in jail. I believe the maximum sentence is 7 years. 7 well deserved years.

BNP LEADER ARRESTED

The leader of the British National Party has been arrested following a TV documentary exposing the extent of racism in the organisation.

Nick Griffin, 45, was arrested on suspicion of incitement to commit racial hatred as part of an investigation into the BBC programme Secret Agent.

Never heard of him.

Anyway, he can't be as bad as Harold Wilson was.

Less than a year ago. Where the BBC agent went undercover. I thought the interview with Griffin afterwards was comical. The poor guy had no idea they were going to air that documentary. Hell, he probably didn't know it existed.

The BNP really got hit hard by that. I remember the guy who claimed to start the Bradford riots got arrested, along with a few of his cronies. I thought it was 6 or 7 who got arrested, but no problem, the more the merrier.

I looked at the link to their site you put and read the report they gave on the arrest. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Are they on the same planet as the rest of us?

its either a sad state of our political system if so many people are duped into voting for a party like that, or see no viable alternative (not that there is one to outright racism of course). That, or its a fantastic propogana machine on behalf of the BNP.

Last year a load of National Front newspapers (The Flame? can't remember what it's called) were shoved through letter boxes in my area.

The National Front were effectively superceded by the BNP years ago, and I believe they're down to about 40 members. Lots of people told the paper how offended and disgusted they felt, but it gave me about an hour of some truly classic British comic reading time.

They claim they're not racist, but that all people of other races should be deported because it's unnatural and unhealthy for people to move around the world and inter-breed (ethnicity is a natural balance, don't you know).

They also have a particular hatred for Lord Sainsbury, amusingly enough, and even printed a copy of an advert for Sainsbury's bank, which showed a black groom and white bride together, thus committing the mortal sin of MIXED RACE MARRIAGE!!!!!

Fucking thought police.

We cannot confirm that Nick Griffin’s planned contest of David Blunkett’s constituency of Sheffield Brightside at the next general Election played any part in the Home Secretary’s decision to arrest Mr. Griffin.
