Only in sizeable (but not excessive) quantities. One centimetre is just a pain in the arse to everyone involved. I think we need a poll.

Bad thing...

It halves the IQ of everyone. Except those with an IQ above 150, it quatres theirs.

Good thing...

It Kills off the weak. Muahaha. http://www.heratech.net/forum/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif

i think snow is brilliant! you never realy get it in Blackpool because it's at sea level and there's lots of salt in the air from the sea. However now i'm living in the Lake District high up on a hill i might actually get some.

My enjoyment of snow is proportional to how much class gets cancelled because of it.

Snow = Wicked awesome .. ness.

Snow is awesome, it's a well known fact, hell without snow, snow days WOULD NOT EXSIST !

Now without snow days, there would be chaos ! too much school .. not enough snow days !

Where would snowboarding/skiing be ?! dry slope ?! hell no !

a little bit of snow makes my car skid, which i hate. and it makes it difficult to get the kids too school because their school is on top of a hill. and it is cold and wet and nasty.

a big fat shitload of snow is great because i dont have to go to work at all, and school is closed, and we can all stay toasty indoors.

Snow is good when one is inside, watching it fall. It immeadiately becomes evil when one actually goes outside and realizes how friggin cold it is.

Snow is good when it stays in its place...up on top of a hill for skiing, that's about it. Everywhere else it is just a nuissance.

Snow is a great thing!! I love walking in 30 cm of freshly fallen snow. I don't like it when it has had cars driving on it all day and when people throw salt on it. But that's mostly cars and people's fault, not snow's.

And if it's cold, so what?

I was born in Mexico and moved to Canada. When people ask me "why did you move to Canada?" they never believe me when I answer "For the weather" :)

But in part it was that.

1) Most US schools (I'm not sure how this works out elsewhere) tag extra days on the end of the school year to compensate for snow days. They calculate roughly the amount they'll need and tag them on. As such, if there aren't as many snow days, the kids in the cold states tend to attend MORE school than the kids in the warm states.

2) For those who live in places where it doesn't snow, common activities they enjoy include: The ability to go golfing ALL YEAR long, the ability to walk around outside and not wear so many layers they can't move, hiking, biking, and mountain climbing.

3) When was the last time you had to scrape the heat off your windshield?

4) I've never had to shovel 'warm' off the front walk.

5) My locks never freeze in one position (making it nearly impossible to unlock doors without putting the kettle on).

6) My pipes never freeze.

7) I never get snowed in.

8) Going for a walk in the winter does not include wet pant-cuffs.

9) I never fall into the sidewalk up to my knee because "it was deeper than it looked."

10) Frostbite anyone?

11) I don't have to plug my car in to keep it warm.

12) My battery doesn't die if it's too cold (I've never uttered the phrase "have you got jumper cables" before work... ever).

my school doesn't have automatic extra days tagged on. if we have like...3 snow days, we get 3 days added on, 2 days, 2 added on, etc. so we don't ACTUALLY miss any school. but it's good to break it up more. also, sometimes we'll have 90-minute delays or early closing. and if we have those, those days still count as a day even tho they're shorter than normal, like too short to get real work done, and so we win.

in other words
I <3 snow.

Snow is good, slush is bad. Maybe people who constantly have to deal with snow-based annoyances have something to moan about, but up in the Alps it doesn't seem to bother them.
