Who would like to help me in my campaign to rid the world of hyphens and all that they entail?
Also, possibly semi-colons, but for now just hyphens.

Not that I'm against the random elimination of punctuation, but just what have hyphens ever done to you to deserve such animosity? Just curious.

Hyphens are a representation of false and/or unecessary catagorization. They do more harm than good, cause divisions without otherwise unified bodies, and wreck internal peace wherever introduced.
For instance, African-American, Asian-American, Caucasian-American, Latino-American, and the list goes on. Each of these groups could simply be called "American," and many problems would be solved, if not entirely, at least in part. Subcatagories in general cause nothing but trouble, as well as misrepresenting their constituent parts in much the same way that all catagories do, but in fewer, but greater ways. In other words, the distortion of information caused by the existence of subcatagories is worse than that of larger catagories, but on fewer aspects of the information.

Obviously someone is too lazy to type in that much needed punctuation.

We can't be more than one thing? All thoes groups are different, and should be able to express their differences. You can't call different cultures all by the same name, because they're not the same.
