Canada will OWN the USA through OIL

So, canada, namely alberta will soon be far and away the biggest supplier of crude oil and natural gas (most gas comes from alberta already)
Alberta has the 2nd largest reserves of oil in the world behind the saudis if you count the oil sands. Another huge oil + gas pipeline is being planned to link up the Artic oil reserves in northern Canada and Alaska. This pipeline will go through Alberta of course.
Also, LNG or liquid natural gas stations are in the planning station in New brunswich. About 12 stations are being planned. (They change LNG into regular gas) LNG is transported via tanker ship from areas like the middle east as no pipelines are available and then is changed into regular gas for use. It is though that LNG could replace alot of the heating oil the states still use.
So after all that, if Canada controls the fuel needs of the USA shouldnt we start busting some economic heads and get some trade consessions?
Also, if your in the states what excuse do you think your government will use to invade alberta? ( And no asshole in toronto I dont think alberta will OPT to join the USA)

None of those reports state where the USA gets its OIL from. The first two reports state nothing about ALberta OIL sands.
You should be looking for biggest OIL importers as well as natural gas importers.
Those reports were before the inclusion of the oil sands.
So what are you saying the USA doesnt get oil/gas from canada in large amounts?
ummmm inside source in Canada
most of the oil is mixed with sand... from what i hear the devices used to mix the sand out would be more then how much money they would get from the oil. We are currently searching for a cheaper way to get them.

HUH? Do you live in canada? Where is all this oil money coming from in alberta? Its ALL oil sands, well 90% of it is....
SUNCOR 12 billion dollar project ~ 400,000 bpd soon to be 800,000 is one example...

Only in Alberta would somebody say 'huh'.
Extract the oil at your own risk - Alberta is considered semi-arable savannah for the most part. Every drop of oil removed from the ground lowers the water table, eventually making it impossible for root systems to tap into ground moisture. Keep it up and your rich province will look like the moon.
I kid you not.

Also do you really think the U.S. will be needing oil in ten or twenty years? I can assure you that we will be the first to develop the next thing in fuel for cars. That is because we need too. So don't think Canada would ever control or even think of invading the US.

I was going to warn Canadians about becoming a source for oil, but then I remembered how we suck up to the Saudi's and thought better of it. Still, Them Neo-Cons are just looking for another country to invade.
OH CANADA, YOU MIGHT BE NEXT!
And keep Terrance and Phillip and their damned fart jokes off our airwaves or it really will be WAR!!!

Okay, I may be slightly biast, especially since I now live in Alaska. But I'm pretty sure that if the oil companies can still afford to pay every man, woman and child $1,300 every year, they obviously seem to think the oil here will continue for a while. Also, to the person who said: "Only a Canadian would say "huh," or something like that, I have to add: Hello! Everyone says "Huh." Get off your freaking soap box.

Silly American. Only Americans say 'huh'. everyone knows that. In Canada, we say 'eh', except for Albertans, who secretly wish they could all BE Americans for some bizarre reason.

No, Japan is leading the way in developing alternative fuel sources for cars. Ford had to license hybrid technology from the Japanese, how embarrassing  .
In order for research into alternative fuels to take place on any large scale, we need a government with enough of an interest to underwrite the research. The Bu$h administration doesn't give a care about the environmental consequences of much of anything.

GET THE F**K OOT
by George Carlin
I'm tired of these Canadians who have worked in the American news media for years and still haven't learned to pronounce the words out and about. Peter Jennings is one of them, and there are about three or four more. These people need to be taught that it's OUT and uh-BOUT, not OOT and uh-BOOT. I say if you can't learn the language, it's aboot time you got the f**k oot of here. Besides, Canadians are just disguised English people, and it's a well-known fact that all English people deserve to die.
Now I disagree with the last sentence, because I am not a nut like George. But I must say I agree with him on the language thing.

When Ford made the assembly line did he get grant money from the government? I think your missing the point if you believe America will not make it because of a lack in grant money. There are many private research jobs working on this issue right now. Imagine the $ from an idea like that and you will see how silly the idea of a grant is.

In any case, the dependancy on oil by Americans is fostered by the fact that they are only exposed to large gas-guzzlign cars for the most part and they are the cheapest cars on the market compard to imports. Unless there was a domestic solution by Ford of Chevy, the dependancy will continue.

The only people who say 'oot' or 'a-boot' are washed-up American comedians trying desperately to fill an extra few minutes of time onstage by singling out some non-threatening ethnic group (the Scots are also tapped into for this crap periodically), making up some nonsensical myth about them, then milking it for all it's worth. I've lived here for more than thirty-five years, and it's only unclever Yanks who bring this tired cliche up, over and over and over. Until they spend some time here, and realize just how full of shit George Carlin really is.
Anyway...it's a two-way street.
It's pronounced 'roof' and not 'ruff', 'sorry', not 'sahrry', and 'nuclear', not 'nook-you-ler'. I say if you can't learn the language, then get the f**k out of here. Besides, Americans are just strategically-shaven monkeys, and it's a well-known fact that...
Blah. Blah. Blah.
So do we just keep taking stupid potshots at each other all night, or do we just agree that, much like our two cultures, our forms of pronunciation are diverging as well? 'Cause this is dull to the point of being obtuse.

Almost all medical research is initiated with government money. Once private corporations can get the government to foot the bill for the initial research, where success is not guaranteed, then they invest in the technology themselves. Example: The Human Genome Project was initially a government-funded project; only within the last two or three years has the private sector researched its uses on any large scale (when it was started in the early 1990's). Back when Henry Ford invented the assembly line, the government did not play this role.
Large corporations exert enough influence over the government to where they can use it to absorb the risk of costly initial research with no guarantee of success. As long as the economic system works this way, research will have to be initiated on a large scale by government funding (ever heard of the National Science Foundation?); private investment usually doesn't kick in until later.

No, the asshole is the one who watches comedians and cartoons and ends up spouting bland witticisms like 'America Jr.', 'America's Hat', and the tired (and untrue) supposed mispronunciations of English - making sure to add the statement, 'But I must say I agree with him (Carlin) on the language thing.'
Carlin is a comedian, yes I thought I made it clear I understand THAT. MY problem isn't with a comedian trying to find ways to fill time in his act - it's with the pinheads who assume that it isn't the load of bullshit it really is.
So maybe you're the asshole for not understanding my posts. Oh, and as a note, I'm also a Quebecer, so don't pull that 'better-than-you' crapola with me.

This may sound like a conspiracy theory, but I am sure technology exists that allow vehicle to run on water. But too much money is to be lost if that were to become mainstream. And for the comment about Americans only exposed to "the gas guzzling American cars...., and they are the cheapest compared to imports". Imported goods are typically more expensive. Thats due to tariffs not necessarily quality.

things wrong with this post:
1. use of the word crapola.
2. thinking i meant better than you (personally), instead of you (everyone) but that was my error
3. your point and my point are essentially the same, yet you're still hostile.
