I would live in Chile, because I speak Spanish, and my husband is from there. As well, it is fairly economically and politically stable and it's just got so so so many beaches! Warm, fresh fruit, wine...what's not to like?

Either Germany, Israel, or Poland.

Germany because I have long had a fascination with German culture, history, and the language (took three years in Middle & High School).

Israel because......well, because I'm Jewish and I guess that's pretty much it.

Poland because it's one of three countries my Great-grandparents emigrated to America from and it'd be nice to see where they came from. I've been trying to keep in contact with my roots.

Either Bosnia or Croatia, I'd consider spain, and I'd consider Mexico if I could be in the right part of Mexico. This is because I speak Bosnian and I also speak Spanish. I'd also consider Ireland, I do read Irish, but speak poorly now since there is little opportunity to practice.

Probably USA - not many leftists around. Even though there are Bushists and other religious wackos around, no one's forcing you to participate, cf. Saudi Arabia.

Russia, on the other hand, would be better considering the soul of the nation. And Russian women, oh my. But the corruption is terrible.

I'd never move to a "Latino" nation. Not just that type. The cockroaches, corruption and being sociable, hell no! Or the Arabic nations or Islamist nations, it's the same, plus the aforementioned religiouswackoness.

In the Far East, politeness levels. I'd never adjust.

Tough question...

I think, going on my first instinct, I'd say Holland because I'm heavily in favour of progressive social policies like same-sex marriage, decriminalization of soft narcotics and the right to choose to death with dignity.

But then, I want to help those who need it more, so I have to consider an under-developed nation.

But I'm also insanely anti-cold, so I then also have to factor in climate.

And let's not forget that I *LOVE* peanut butter, so I have to live where I can get it easily without breaking international postal shipping laws.

Crap. Can't figure this one out.

i wouldn't mind giving Japan a try, but their sexual politics are a royal bitch...as a foreigner and a woman i would face heavy discrimination, and i simply don't have the patience to put up with that sort of nonsense. i think Japanese culture is largely a beautiful and admirable one, but there are a few spots to it that would make me unhappy so i don't know if i would end up liking living there full time. i would LOVE to try it, if only i had the money :).

i also would be interested in trying on Holland, England, Australia, Mexico, and Kenya.

Why are Thailand and the Philippines so low on your list? And where the heck is Maldives?

I made my list based off of a lot of factors (and forgot to add the Netherlands to it): weather, environment, economy, government, local language(s), poverty, ease of move, crime, etc. It's certainly not something even remotely scientific, but Thailand and the Phillipines are lower on the list both for their higher crime rates, the inherent corruption in both governments, and the difficulty of moving there and having a job waiting for me (it doesn't help that the fillipines has like 100 different languages, and I only speak about 1 and a half of them).

The Maldives is an Island Nation of coral islands off the coast of India. It is said to be one of, if not the, most beautiful place on earth. I have yet to go there, and hope to before global warming raises the sea level and the nation sinks. The highest point in the chain is like 3 feet above see level. It's not a place I could move to and get a job, but it's definately a place I would think about heading if I won the lottery tomorrow.

As a Dutchie............It doesn't get as cold here as in Scandinavia......... In all honesty I haven't seen fecking snow for atleast two bleeding years!

Holland and the Netherlands are the same country. Holland is two provinces (states) in the Netherlands.

Amsterdam is a city in The Netherlands so it's not in fecking Denmark. And as it looks now seeing that we have a Bushwannabe as PM in this country (except he ain't as dumb) our system will probably change. Unless the PM and his Cabinet of incompentence do this country a favour and bugger off.

Before anybody start you chose them.......no we didn't. Biggest part of our country wanted this PM, but a coalition with another party! Not teh coalition we have now.

G'night and any otrher question please don't hesistate to bother me.
