Does anyone give a damn? :)

The guy is going to die either way. If he got life, he would be murdered.

The death penalty? he'll die after 20 years of appeals.

Someone is going to be murdered?

Of course no one gives a damn!

I didn't see your thread until after I posted this one. Besides...

And it's people like you that celebrate in death that make Americans look like barbarians.

While it was certainly a tragedy for the mother and child to die, why now have people been celebrating the apparent death of another. True he was proven guilty, but does that justify people's enjoyment that he in turn will killed?

"Death no longer terrifies man. The smell of blood is as common as the smell of white plums. So, he creates slavery, and savagery, which surpass the horror of dying. These can only be fought with more bloodshed, and the cycle never ends..."

Well, I'm glad Scott Peterson got the death penalty. He deserves it, frankly.

I also think death penalty appeals should be limited. If you are convicted once, and overturned twice, you're not going to win.

Also, the death peanalty should be a lot faster -- a bullet to the head works just fine, really. No need for all this needle crap that costs thousands of dollars. Just shoot him a few times in the head -- saves money.

And it is people like Scott Peterson that make Americans look like barbarians.

Why don't go to your own thread if you don't like it?

YES! Get rid of appeals! Let's just do it the China way, nice and quiet!

Did they finally get enough evidence to get the guilty conviction? Last I heard from the trial it sounded as though he might be innocent.

Why is this case so different from any other case of spousal and child murder that happens ALMOST EVERY DAY in America? Why is this more important than all the others who die? I pity those whose lust for blood is so insatiable that they rejoice in learning that someone is going to be put to death. Again, I am not sympathizing with Peterson. I realize what he did (or was proven to have done) and I find it horrifying. What I am asking is why people delight in death? Does that not make them just as bad if not worse than those they despise?

Realize that the Romans got off on Gladiators for hundreds of years. Not much has changed.

But I wish people could put those violent energies into video games, or movies. Much better release.

Don't think me ignorant Chodlo. I realize Romans and barbabric peoples of the world enjoyed and probably still enjoy violence and death. However, I am referring to the average American who if you asked them anytime of the day, "Do you like seeing people executed?" They would say no. The same people who are repulsed by violence in the media and around the world are the first ones to call for the death of someone they have never met. I'm just questioning the moral integrity of a society that claims to be against violence and death when they themselves might as well be holding the bloody knife.

You are being a selective reader. I said limit the number of appeals. There is no point in wasting taxpayers money on someone who was convicted and condemned to death, and then they lost their appeal(s).

Of course there have been a significant number of convicts exonerated after 20 or so years of incarceration.

What does that tell us?
