I'm a lib dem by proxy. I don't want Labour to stay in power and the last thing I want is for the Tories to get back in.
I'm an American with a rudimentary understanding of British politics.
I understand the Conservative/Tory party is the rightwing, Labour is centrist, and Liberal Democrats are leftwing? And Greens are even more leftwing?

Labour was traditionally left wing, but has become more right wing to get into power - "New Labour", as it's called.
To be honest, I'm not sure about the Lib Dem's policies. They don't get an awful amount of news coverage. I should really do a bit of research, but I'm not of voting age yet so that can wait a while.
The Tories *spit* are the right wing party and their leadership under Margaret Thatcher is considered by some to be one of the worst things that's ever happened to this country, for various reasons.
Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. It's getting a bit late and I'm a little tired.
