I don't see the racism in that comment. I do not believe that was a slur against Gypsies.

Also, could anyone describe really what the Gypsies are? I really know little about them. Though I do know that they were the most heavily affected victims of Hitler's Holocaust, much worse than what happened to the Jews. Not that that wasn't bad...

I think they should be given the status of "wandering nation" which would allow them their national rights no matter where they choose to squat. For the time they're there, it just becomes a Roma State until they decide to move on.

No government likes nomads like the gypsies. You can't tax them because they move around and since they don't belong to any nation, they are impossible to deal with a diplomotic sense. Hence governments shoot them or try to integrate into their societies (forcibly).

Comparing Jews to gypsies does not make sense although both get persecuted. The gypsies roam about and never had a permanent nation. The Jews are everywhere because they get exiled from their lands so many times.
