Haven't seen the resolution yet, will let you know once I read it.
Don't really have any Canadian issues that come to mind right now.
Where in Canada are you?

Calgary, yeah Canada is awsome. The dollar is rising, you think it'll pass the US.

Another Canuck here from Ontario. On the dollar, yeah, way cool that it went up. Makes my american education that much cheaper. Analysts predict .86 by 2006, but I don't see it surpassing the US dollar anytime in the foreseeable future. Much of the increase was driven by the price hike in crude oil. US imports 16% of their oil from Canada. But you'll notice in the past week or so the Canadian dollar has dived about 3.5 cents since crude oil prices dropped again. Probably will go up again though with the announcement OPEC plans on decreasing production the beginning of next year. It'll all level off, or just continue to increase very gradually. Soon as US wraps up Iraq, the budget deficit won't be so incredible and the Canadian dollar will fall some again.

If the US economy continues to operate at the unsustainable deficit levels it is at, and interest rates in Canada remain attractice or even better, rise compared to US levels, then yes, I think the Canadian dollar will overtake the US dollar again. (1976 last time it happened)

Agreed, that would be great to have a few less American tourists. But the US will definately not continue forever at such a high deficit level. And even though it sounds cool to have a stronger dollar, it would hurt our economy seeing as almost a third of our GDP comes from exports to the US. A weak US dollar means less sales to the US, and less income in Canada. Bank of Canada has foreseen this problem and will most likely change interest rates to slow the growth of the Canadian dollar. Besides, third quarter GDP is already down from estimates. Also the dollar has already lost about 4 cents in the past week, mainly due to poor economic performance, and lowered crude prices.

Hey hey, me I think we should make marijuana legual, have a federal health care, cut the tax, and make electricity with other thing than nuclear and coal.
That's how I think our big contry (''le plus meilleur pays au monde'') should be.

Well, if they want to make some money off of Marijuana, they should make it legal, but make it a government industry, and undercut all the pushers out there.
Health care good!
I don't mind taxes so long as I know they're going to the right place.
I'm all for nuclear power. As long as we don't staff the plants with imbeciles, it's the best way to power a nation right now. It should be supported, however, with wind and solar. this would probably work very well for the prairie provinces, since they have enough flat ground to actually establish it.

Whereabouts in Ontario?
I suppose I half qualify as a Canadian... I live here and have a dual citizenship :) One of which is Canadian.
Anyways.... there really isn't much groundshaking stuff going on around here in Canada...
Maybe the Jeremy Hinzman thing or (old news) your opinion on the sponsorship scandal?

Owen Sound, Ontario. Unfortunately I don't spend a lot of time in Canada lately since I'm studying for accounting in the US. So yeah, I don't know a lot of what's going on up there unless I make a point of looking it up. Need to get me some CBC somehow.
