Well, there are some minor similarities, but they are similar on all the things that matter. I will admit that they are different politically. VIsit politicalcompass.com and you will see that Bush is even farther to the right that Hitler! Now, am I wrong, or is that a bit extreme for someone who is supposed to be "leading" the "free" world.

Well, as I recall history; a major difference is the time and place.
When AH took power, nearly all of Germany was starving. US$1 would get you 7,500,000,000,000 mark, but wouldn't buy a loaf of bread if you could find one. (yes, I checked the number of zeros) People were paid twice a day, in cash, by the basketfull, not that it was of any use -- the price of a product would increase a hundred-fold between the time you picked it up and could run to pay.
When GB took office, very few in the US were starving. More than should be, to be certain, and Congress isn't about to do anything to fix that. And in that, may be the biggest difference of all: Congress runs everything in the US, not the President. He spends a total of $0 of the annual budget, gets about as much say in how it is spent. AH pretty much wrote the rules as he went along, pity he wasn't paying more attention to the folk actually directing the "work of the government," and perhaps avoiding WWII. Maybe not, hard to say after all these years.
Still, it is an interesting rhetorical question.... Perhaps Orwell wasn't so very far wrong after all.

The poll is wrong. The big difference is that Hitler could carry people with his speaches. He was a great public speaker. In fact, had he actually went on with his dream to become a presit, I'd bet money he could have been pope in no time.
Bush on the other hand.. he makes the odd good joke.. but I find him boring.
The main difference is that Bush doesn't really have the intelligence necessary to pull of anything Hitler did. He also doesn't quite hate any ethnic group enough to exterminate them and he does support freedom in his rhetoric.
