Why do you use the forums?

Since I am approaching my first NS birthday, I thought I would ask a general question. What motivates you to post on these forums (or any internet forum)? Why did you originally start posting? Why do you stay here?

For me, I find it fun. And due to the large number of Americans [in particular, other nationalities in general] I find it interesting to hear the views of people in cultures very different to mine. As well as the cheap thrill to hear the view of others people who live near me (I say cheap, since I could easily just ask random people their vireews on things). IIRC the thread I read and posted on was on the BNP (posted by the dearly departed Mongoose Spatula), although, it could have been under a different name. Also it fills up the free time between lectures :D and when I'm bored.

Anyone else want to contribute?

Well, I thought it would be cool to talk online to other people and have fun conversations. And I posted on NS because back when I was in the UN, till it went downhill IMO, it was fun debating issues before it was decided.
True, it rarely helped people change or modify their mind but its always good to try anyway.

And I post in general because JFK needed the help explaining his words to those that speak partisan. Now he is gone and lost the rlection so now I can discuss the mistakes Bush did in his second term. He only has a few this time but its only the beggining.

And its always fun to talk with others even those that speak hellfire and hate at you.

I find I strangely connect with one or two out of every dozen or so posters I butt heads with. Makes it addictive.

Out of interest, why do you post on any forum (this is also a general question in the spirit of the thread)?

Hey, don't doubt your own power.

You can do it by yourself.

Believe on yourself.

Unless you are planning a sacred ritual.

Close. I'm developing a nanite-propagated DNA resequencing retrovirus to convert the entire global population of the earth into goofballs just like me.

I figure ten disciples will do it. Eight if I can get a geneticist.

I used to RP in a chat room years ago, and then lost interest. So I started hanging around a Need for Speed site because I liked the game. Got to be freinds with some people there, now I'm a moderator, even though I don't care for the game anymore. So until I came here, I hung around for something to do.
And I guess that's why I come here too, something to do.

I don't get bored. I can always find a way to entertain myself. Often at the expense of another.

If i'm lucky i can weed out the Xists from the rest of the pseudo-slackers.
Really, 9661 .....
Sometimes i post to see how other players' multiple partners were today (dear?) ....
Often, a player or two can be antagonized enough into providing a lot of data w/out me having to go get it since my modem and connex sucks.
Sometimes it's nice to know that there are others out there who find a (useful?) forum for their discontent and maybe know that it sucks thinking you're one of the only people in a populace that has very little inkling how we're truly dooming ourselves.
Sometimes someone or another out there has the right answer to my quandary, sometimes i have the (an) answer to theirs.
Sometimes i reflect on the last great project of Timothy Leary and every now and then like to think i matter in the next (great?) step in commerce and soci-psychology.
Sometimes i just get on to see what MKULTRA has in mind for everyone.
