I can't believe it...all this time... KFC must known've this, right?!

If your too lazy to check, i'll give you the rundown.

Approx 60% of our genes ae similar to the chicken... depending on what news source you go to, they might also say that monkeys evolved from chickens then into humans... at least that's what my paper said. heheh

Still i must wonder......... is this plausible? Or is G-d just laughing as Evolutionist's sort this out?

Now if you excuse me, i'm going to go eat some worms. *cluck cluck*

I know but Genetic Researchers and Evolutionist's love showing where we came from... also 90% of our genes are similar to rodents. I guess the politicians ancestry hails from that side of the gene pool. ;)

How about a snake? A rock perhaps?

The real problem with cannibalism, aside from any moral aversions, is the matter of disease. Many diseases which infect lower life forms are virtually insignificant to the human body, because they simply weren't built to do anything to our species. Eating humans is dangerous, however, because any virus or germ that is hiding in the corpse in question can very easily transfer itself to the body of the consumer.

No, but we could have evolved from a common ancestor of both, say an amoeba or suchlike

Of course we have similar genes to a chicken. We're both living things, both animals, both vertebrates, both have two eyes, two arms (well, loosely) and two legs...

you know whats funny? humans are more related to chimps (and apparently chickens) than the african elephant is related to the asian (if i recall correctly)

The Colonel (when he was alive) did a TV interview. If I recall, it was in the late 70s or early 80s. When asked what was the special herbs and spices, he refused to say, citing it was part of the buy-out when he sold the francise (I presume to Pepsi).

When asked if he'd been back to a Kentucky Fried Chicken (this was back when they used the full name), he said "No, I won't eat that crap."

I've heard that humans taste really good, kind of sweet. ;)

Anyway I don't see why eating humans is so fundamentally different to eating animals. The only difference between a humand and an animal is intelligence. Do we eat the intelligence?

From now on I'll refuse to use the word cannibalism :)

Exaclty, it's just like that "everybody came frome Adam and Eve" (or whichever first humans). Populations didn't just appear. They grew and grew from much smaller numbers, possibly 2 or 3.

I don't get it. This only proves that the chicken and the humans share a common ancestor. I don't understand the point you're trying to make.

Three? ...*mind wanders* Interesting...

Anyway, it's the few percentage points of genetic difference that makes us so different. Oragutans have a genetic make up that it in the high 90 percentage range of closeness to ours. We're still quite different from them. I wouldn't suggest eating an orangutan, though. I wouldn't imagine them tasting very good.

Duuuude... it's way more than 60%. Everyone makes a big deal about how we share 99 point something percent genes with a chimp, but seriously, 95% of our DNA is the same as a fruit fly, and 75% is the same as a banana.

Maybe it's saying 60% of everything BESIDES the basic sequences needed for life. In either case... it's still no big deal. And no, chickens are not whatever percent human, nor are we that percent chicken. Or three-quarters banana. It's just the genes that are the same. They're still a totally different organism.

Not that I'm condoning KFC or anything... in fact, I'm a vegetarian. I'm just saying.

You people just don't understand what genetics are.

A gene is a bunch of nucleic acids put together that will later (outside the nucleus, in the cell) translate into a bunch of amino-acids that form proteins. Those proteins are for example hemoglobin, citochrome c, etc.
That percentage that you are talking about is the number of equal aminoacids that we have in our gene-> proteins. For example, many studies in mammal genetics are conducted with the citochrome c gene. Pigs, horses, humans, dogs have different aminoacids in some parts and equal aminoacids in other parts, for example, human has abbcd..., dog has abced, horse has fbccd, etc.

These differences allow us to see how closely related these animals are and to trace an evolutionary tree.

I won't explain evolution again, I already did 3 times in different posts where creationists demand evolutionists to prove their points, blah blah blah. Search for them.

Yes, its true that humans have the same/similar strands of protien (aka DNA) to many other things.. even protien...

If you take it low enough... "omg... that rock has carbon in it! me too! we must be related!!"

On a planet where all life is carbon based, theres gotta be a *few* similarities, if there WASNT, it'd be more shocking that the Human-Chicken connection...

Anyways.. 'Penguin' chocolate got the right idea first with their "When you're peckish.. P-p-p-p-pick up a person!" motto (at one point, anyway...)

The few people who've said they're jewish, therefore would never be canibalistic... does this actually have any relivance to this thread?
I just wouldn't knowingly eat human from moral issues, not because I don't want its peopley-goodness
