When will the west learn? Handouts and aid will not work if you spread it very thinly to loads of countries. Instead each rich nation should chose a poorer nation to support and devote all its resorces to that one nation. That way something may be achived. Being PC about it and saying "we help everyone" doesnt help when you have finite resorces. Face it, giving a tiny ammount of aid to every developing country will do nothing. Focus on one nation and things will be acomplished.

remember band and live aid? when bands got together in 1984 to release a god awful song for ethiopian famine relief? i know it was big in the US and UK, but im not sure about everywhere else, sorry.

Eeeh yeah. Let's devote all of our resources for the benefit of one 3rd world country....that will make you very popular with the voters.
As for me. I think things like development aid, charity etc.... are utterly useless. Over the past 40 years or so Africa alone slorped up over a trillion dollars. And what did it change? Nothing. It's a bottomless pit.

I support the new "band aid". It is for a good cause!

However i do like the old song more. (20 years ago..)
