There has been unofficial debate about who has the best flag in the world of Nationstates, but a few flags that have caught my eye have been selected for this poll on who has the best flag. Look at the flags below and then vote for the the nation which that flag belongs to.

They're pretty pictures, but I don't think any one would qualify to go on an actual flag...

I think people must realise that a flag is not a picture but a symbol. It is not something detailed but something basic, and easlily replicated. People keep copying JPEGs from other sites in which is silly. A flag of a nation is never seriously detailed. The most detailed flag I can think of is Brazil.

Flags aren't supposed to be pretty pictures. They're supposed to be symbolic, like heraldry.
yes, you do have a point there. I must admit a flag for a nation should be basic and symbolic but I doubt any one of us on the poll have actually thought about what our flags symbolise.

The detail is within the symbol. Take the American flag for example. The numbers may mean something 13 stripes. 7 red and 6 white of them. Look at foundation of our country in 1776. 7+6=13 of our 13 colonies, the time when we had 13 stars on the flag (betsy ross). The 8 from 7+1 can be understood as well. 50 stars. When you gaze at the 50 stars in a flag you can see an X that marks the spot.

As far as real world flags
I like the cuban flag, Puerto Rico, USA
and others.
The flag of Cuba is
a blue, white, blue, white, blue horizontal stripes
with a red triangle on the side with a white star in the center.
The Flag of Puerto Rico is
a red, white, red, white, red horizontal stripes
with a red triangle on the side with a white star in the center.
Hmmm, didnt like the flags or did u mean u were just jealous that ur flag looks like trash in comparison to those in the poll?
