AFC is easy. NFC, not so easy.

Here I go:

AFC:
1. Patriots
2. Steelers
3. Colts
4. Jets
5. Chargers
6. Broncos

NFC:
1. Eagles
2. Falcons
3. Green Bay
4. St. Louis (I had to pick someone from that division)
5. Minnesota
6. Tampa Bay

AFC Championship: Patriots 28 Colts 24

NFC Championship: Philadelphia 31 Whoever crawls out of that sewer 13

Super Bowl: Patriots 24 Philadelphia 13

Yeah, I dunno. I'm thinking Patriots vs Steelers in the Championship with how you assigned the teams playoff positions.

It would have Colts vs Broncos and Jets vs Chargers no? Of that Colts and Chargers would move on and it would be Patriots vs Colts and Steelers vs Chargers, correct?

Of that I can easily see the Patriots and Steelers coming out of those games with a win. Then it could go either way in the Championship game. Steelers beat the Patriots earlier in the year, but I dunno.

Now on to that NFC listing.

Green Bay over Tampa Bay and Minnesota over St. Louis.

Then Eagles over Minnesota and Atlanta vs Green Bay. Hmm that's a tough one, so I'll go with Green Bay.

Eagles over Green Bay, prolly easily if last week is any indication.

No the Colts would beat the Broncos then the Steelers.

I can easily see them beating the Broncos, but the Steelers wouldn't be so easy. The Colts don't really have that great a defense right? While as their offense seems to be the main reason they win games. The Steelers are much more balanced in having a good offense and defense.

His assignment is flawed as the first four teams must be the division champs. 5 and 6 are wild card. The Jets cannot be 4th.

My team, the Broncos, have a choice right now. They can continue to collapse and miss the playoffs entirely, or they can go back to the things that brought them success early in the season. They need to start making good wrap-up tackles, catching passes that hit them in the hands, and in Jake Plummer's case, taking the sack or throwing the ball away rather than making the kind of horrible throws that cost them the game on Sunday. If they shape up, they'll not only make the playoffs, but they'll beat the Chargers, the Jets, or even the Colts and have a solid chance in the next round.

If it comes to that, I'll take the Steelers over the Colts with no reservations. I don't think Manning will be able to get good reads on the Steelers' zone rush scheme.

You are correct, I screwed that up. It does not affect the way it turns out, though, as the Jets still play the Chargers, and I think the Jets win that game no matter where they play.

Yeah, I'm still trying to remember the new divisions and who is in which.

So then to fix that just replace the Jets with the Chargers.

But then it still comes out the same way, so it seems rather moot.

I think Manning will have plenty of time to prepare and I also think he can read just about any defense. I think the Indy line is good enough to slow the pass rush, and the Steelers don't have the personnel to stop Manning and his recievers.

I am a Steelers fan, too. Very pessimistic. :(

That is if Pennington is healty, if there's no serious injuries on either sides, if the referies don't blow a call that gives the game to the 49 ers when the Giants should have won...

When it comes to the playoff, I expect the unexpected. That's why I expect the AFC final to be steelers - colts (Steelers winning) because I think the steelers will finish 1st overall in the AFC and that the colts will win against the Patriots.

On the NFC, Philadelphia should go to the super bowl. But then loose the big game.

I gotta say the steelers are going to be crushed by the colts...

Heh, it would no doubt come down to who wins the battles between the Colts offense and the Steelers defense. Because I doubt the Steelers offense could match the Colts offense.

The zone rush is a special case because any four of the front seven could be rushing on any play (three down linemen and a linebacker, the ends and two linebackers, the nose tackle and three linebackers, etc.). It'll be hard for Manning to know where the rushers are coming from, and even if Manning himself can figure it out, the offensive line may still have trouble. All this means more time spent between plays (slowing down the tempo of the no-huddle offense) and less time for Manning to throw. Pittsburgh's ranked fourth in the league against the pass, so a little pressure may be all they need.

If that's not enough, the Colts' pass-first offense won't hold up very well in a cold outdoor game on grass, which is exactly what they'll face in Pittsburgh. If it snows without wind, they'll have a slightly better chance (snow favors the passing game) but Roethlisberger's got a strong arm and he'd be able to take advantage of those conditions too.
