Do we use all of it? According to wikipedia we do... according to the simpsons we can use a maxium of 10% and go paranoid because of that.

What is the truth? -.^

We use all of it. Just not all tied to consciousness. But we use almost all of it during the course of the day.

So.. we use all of our brain.. but only 10% of its potential?

*confused*

We use certain parts frequently.

An aside: when ingesting LSD, certain of those frequently-used pathways are burned out, and so redundant, unused pathways come into play. That's why some people using LSD claim to 'see the music' or 'taste the colour' - their brains are trying to make sense out of the information being supplied to it through these unused redundant sensory inputs.

But I digress.

*confused*Yup - you do appear to be easily confused. Those of us who use all our brains don't have this problem as badly.

The brain is pretty overrated in this materialistic society.

What's of interest is the mind, which has only begun to be understood, only in the last 50 years or so. The relationship of the mind to the soul is even more fascinating, and is even less understood at large.

Bodies (and that includes the brain) are pretty frail things, they don't last that long. Put 'em in the wrong temperature, or don't feed them enough dead organic material (now isn't that a concept) and they tend to get pretty cranky and wither away.

I am the only person alive who uses all of his brain. Ha. Unfortunately, I am forced to live in a 9'x6' cage by the US govt., with only nationstates and the web for comfort. And the telekinesis. Pulling tasers off belts and shocking the owner never tires

I think it is rather comforting to think we only use 10% of our brains full capacity, since the braincells are not reneweing at any rate in same pace as they deteriorate, perish and die.

So as the number of braincells diminishes, the new connections between them are to redeem the lowered level of performance, wich would othervise inevitably follow from smaller number of braincells.

Whichever parts the voices tell me to use. Apparently, my brain is a timeshare. :)

One thing we all agree on is that we hate the cold. It's one of my weaknesses.

So I usually spend most of my naked time indoors in the winter.

Like now, for instance. :D

Is this how it works sans chemicals in people who naturally have synaesthesia (spelling?)?

that's where one part of the brain does two or more things by accident e.g. the sight section responds to smell impulses
yeah, I watch horizon
