Kerry and Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry may have lost the election, but he says there’s no way he’s losing the friendship of Bruce Springsteen. Kerry claims his connection with the singer is much deeper than mere campaigning.

“We met because of politics, but we have much more in common than that. We both play the guitar and love jamming,” he said. “Although I'm still trying to work out how to fit a contrapuntal Baroque part on top of ‘Born to Run’.”

After an election that has left the country bitterly divided, Kerry says his focus is now on healing the partisan divide. The Massachusetts Senator claims that he is now involved in a mission almost as important as trying to get elected, an attempt to unite and heal America.

“We are a very partisan country, but one thing that both red states and blue states agree on is the smooth rock sounds of the Boss,” he said. “I may not be President, but I feel confident that my success in the debates proves I'm the man to MC his forthcoming ‘Healing America’ tour.”

“Now that the election is over, Bruce and I don't have politics to constrain us,” the Senator said. “It'll just be the two of us on stage together, riffing.”

Springsteen has been unwilling to commit to touring with Kerry. “I don’t mind John, but I hung out with him more because I'm an enemy of Bush than a great friend of his,” the singer said. “To be honest, I'd be more interested in going on tour with Hillary Clinton.”
