The thing only let me have ten options, so there's also Major Frank Burns (Larry Linville).

I picked Winchester.

Either Klinger or Radar.
Cannot think of a name

Radar.

Incedently, everytime I see a "Speed Enforced by Radar" I alway imagine Radar O'Rielly with his ear to the ground saying, "60-No, 75 miles an hour, sir."

I spent a lot of time on the road, see. And watching tv......

favorite shot: when the guy (I think the one who thinks he's gay) asks for poison and they have a Last Supper adn they imitate a painting of The Last Supper

Who then promptly gets laid with the nurse and is 'cured'. so so so funny...they just give him some water of something don't they?

my fav is the bit with the loud speakers, abosolute classic, especially when the chaplain gets involved!

i think Major Burns over-acted... I love MASH.

My fave character would have to be BJ. He was just about the only sane one there... and even he snapped somtimes.

Hawkeye. Such irreverant sense of humour. Obviously influenced by Groucho Marx heavily. But I do enjoy Klinger and Father Mulcahy. Not to mention Trapper

Yes, I know. That's why the poll says "Corporal Walter Eugene 'Radar' O'Reilly (Gary Burghoff)".

Incidentally, for the one who mentioned Col. Flagg--Flagg was never a regular character; in fact, he was in only four episodes that I can think of offhand. Freedman (Alan Arbus) was in more episodes than Flagg, and he's not on the list either.

Actually, Flagg was in seven episodes. He was one that always raised a laugh when he appeared because he was such a caricature.

He certainly left a memorable impression.

My overall vote though would probably have to go for Potter.

Of course, if we are being picky, it was Lt Colonel Blake too. Potter was a full bird but henry wasn't.

Why not be picky? These things matter and I am outraged. Genuinely outraged.

Because someone had to say it: Trapper John.
He was great, played second fiddle to Hawkeye too much, but he had his moments alone and he was always the greatest.

Yes, I realized I had messed up on Blake after I posted it (when it was too late to correct it)--you'll see that it's correct on the movie poll.

As for Winchester, there were just so many captains that I wasn't thinking.

Actually, Flagg was in seven episodes. He was one that always raised a laugh when he appeared because he was such a caricature.

Well, like I said, only four that I could remember offhand :)

And incidentally, with regards to Harry Morgan (Col. Potter), in the 3rd season (he joined the regular cast in the 4th season) he was General Steele in one episode--the general who court-martialed Hawkeye and then started dancing around.
