Best TV shows for kids - Poll

These polls are done all the time, but I' m bored and hey, it's always fun to discuss old cartoons and bring back some old memories, so here it is.
You know the format I'm sure. And these are just my old favourites, feel free to add any.

Animaniacs is good, so's Pinky & The Brain. TMHT is alright. Count Duckula not too bad. But come on, where's Thundercats? I mean, seriously, you can't have the poll without it. It's clearly the best kids show ever...ever...ever. Me and my friends have this argument all the time (we're students, we have the time, and it's expected of us), and Thundercats always comes out on top. It's possibly the best TV show ever...although the Crystal Maze may take that title. So, yeah. It's Thundercats. I declare this thread closed. :D
EDIT: Forgot about Trap Door. That was so funny as well. But still no Thundercats

Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles? Wtf? What happened to Ninja Turtles?
And I'd just like to point out that remakes of old cartoons are really shit. I hate it when they try and jazz up old gold cartoons. Eg. Ninja turtles. batman, spiderman, I think they fucked around with x-men too, Astroboy... and the list goes on...

what about Power Rangers? My friend is related to the orig. pink ranger by marriage...it's pretty cool.
I wouldn't ruin my child's opinion of animation with that crap.

Here's where I show my age / British roots :p Be warned though, you said kids' show, not kid's cartoon ;)
Knightmare!
Don't know if anyone else here has seen it, but it was a show for kids (about 10-15) in the late 80s - early 90s.
It was an adventure game, rather like VR, where a group of 3 kids guided another kid about a CG-background dungeon, to solve puzzles, try not to get eaten and eventually recover an item of importance (talisman, say).
Great fun :D

Oh, so good. My university is letting me do my thesis on 'The impact of LSD on Western cultural history' - in other words, they've given me an excuse to watch The Magic Roundabout, and listen to Pink Floyd.
Apparently there's a film of the Magic Roundabout being made. I do not have high hopes for it.

its hard to argue with how useful Sesame Street is for preschoolers and primary grade kids (K - 2)
personally, as a parent, I always liked Rugrats the best though, followed by Spongebob which is evily funny from an adult viewpoint.
As a kid though, I always loved Bugs Bunny and Friends

I only had 10 slots, although I agree that missing out Thundercats was a travesty!
Invader Zim! Why, oh why did they cancel it? It rocked, but I was really going for nostalga, which is also why I left off Spongebob Squarepants!
The Simpsons isn't strictly a 'kids' show now tho, is it? Lot of more adult themed episodes.
Knightmare was ace! Left it off cos I didn't hav enough room
I mean, it was bad enough having to lump Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain together. They were both so cool.
Didn't mean to offend!!

They were called that in the UK when I was a kid. Apparently Ninja was 'too violent' a term for us li'l ones!!
I was talking about the origional tho.
I agree with you tho. I mean, has anyone seen the new He-man?

He-man, Turtles...and TRANSFORMERS! Fuck yeah!
Transformers is the GREATEST WOOOO!
C'mon people, just that voice on the opening credits "Robots in disguise", its just class.
Anybody remember Go-Bots? Cheap Transformers, with even cheaper characterisations?
He-man was cool, but where are the Wuzzles?!

Autobots, ROLL OUT!

*Sarcastic, cynical rant* Zim was too controversial...but what did Nickelodeon expect from a guy whose previous claim to fame was, "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac?" Any person who even glanced at that work could see that anything that came from Johnen Vaquez would be 1) subversive and 2) intelligent. Any executive, though...they may have missed that. Why give kids an intelligent show when they'll be quieter staring blankly at Butt-Ugly Martians? Go Nickelodeon - you're the problem with kids today.
Now that the rant is over...I'd have to say that I liked the Xmen cartoon a lot, or if you want to go older, I can't think of anything right now.

Now that the rant is over...I'd have to say that I liked the Xmen cartoon a lot, or if you want to go older, I guess Count Duckula was good ('cmon, it was a children's show that had much focus on beheadings and death in general), as was Animaniacs.

It wasn't as bad as 'Beast Wars', which was Transformers with animals instead of cool robots and cars.
Did anyone else cry when Optimus Prime died? It wasn't as good after that, even when they brought him back!
Also, and I know this ain't a kids cartoon but I love it, is anyone else a Futurama fan? And were you devistated when it got cancelled last year?
Compare our old shows from childhood to the new crap being churned out today - Butt Ugly Martians, Pokemon, The Amanda Show, (basically all Nick's new stuff). And that's not to mention the Teletubbies and Tweenies, or the Boobahs, which scare me - seriously, they are pod people!!!
Incidently, if you want info on an old favourite, or just to remember the good old days, TV tome has almost every show you can think of. www.tvtome.com
Ok, I'm done now. xx

Introduce your children to pornography at a young age. That way, when they're out of the house and they walk by a triple x store, they'll know exactly whats in there and that they shouldn't be ashamed to go in (wearing sun glasses, a trench coat and a cowboy hat).
