Fellows, let's not squabble! After all, you can pour syrup over both of them. Of course, waffles do taste better...

pancakes are good basic food
best made with fresh picked wild blueberris IN the mix not in some kind of ooze on top.

its amazing how good flour, milk and eggs are all cooked in together.

I support pancakes over waffles, with French Toast also ahead of waffles, as well. Waffles are tasty, but when I make breakfast Sunday morning, they just don't happen.

Waffles take more love to make, hence they are better.

I like pancakes.

I do not like crepes.

Crepes are thin, whispy little things, suitable for rolling into cigar-shape whilst filled with cheese for a blintz. They are like the frail, waifish girls I have seen in magazine adds. They are the culinary equivalent of lace and gauze.

Pancakes are, bare minimum, a half cm (quarter inch or so) thick. Pancakes are substantial, and hearty. They are reminiscent of those meals that would sustain a man through a day of good honest labour, cutting timber or bailing hay.

I have known some wonderful chefs that could not make a decent pancake to save their frou-frou lives. And I have known many a man who, though lost in the kitchen in most other respects, could make up a viable stack of pancakes.

I have to agree on the waffles = love idea as well. Good waffles require identical ingredients to good pancakes, and almost identical quantities, but more effort. When someone makes waffles for me, the relationship is automatically taken to the next level. But that only counts for breakfast. Waffles for an evening meal means you didn't take the Sunday joint out of the freezer in time.

And frozen waffles only show resentment or laziness.
