Gundam
War, why we fight war, if humanity can ever outgrow it, peace (I could list TONS more but I'll just go w/the overall stuff of Gundam)

Nova. It has science, and people hate that.
Frontline. People just hate that in general.

I think this may just depend on where you live -or maybe I just don't watch enough TV -not seen Nova, though have heard of Frontline Scotland.
Brasseye! They do fake-documentaries which challenge people's views.
Their Paedophilia one was too controversial for most people.

Nova is one of the few shows that make the pointless parade of PBS worthwhile.
Well frontline and the Newshour too. But appart from that it's all crap. If I want to see britcoms I'll watch BBC america.
While I'm on the subject BBC america could be less crap too.
Law and Order SVU. It takes topics right out of the news and portrays them in a right vs legal perspective.

cmon! What about The X-Files! Government conspiracies and Aliens? It kills two controversial birds with one stone!
Gattica. What it is to be human, what it is to be discriminated against. One of my favourite movies of all time.
