Islam is no more troublesome than any other religion. That is including Christianity.

I don't get what the story at the start of the article is all about:
"DAYS before she was due to be married, Ghofrane Haddaoui, 23, refused the advances of a teenage boy and paid with her life. Lured to waste ground near her home in Marseilles, the Tunisian-born Frenchwoman was stoned to death, her skull smashed by rocks hurled by at least two young men, according to police."

Is that incident being blamed on their religion?

What? That does not make sense. You are either saying that all Christians have guns and are dumb or you are saying that Muslims are peaceful because they don't have guns and they are better educated.

People seem to want to ignore simple facts. The followers of Islam represent the largest religious belief on this planet. If 1% of all people are wack jobs, the Muslim share of them will be larger than the others, simple math. It doesn't mean that the other 99% are evil or deranged or even that they hate you.

It also doesn't mean other beliefs don't have their own "1%".

i specifically didnt say all Christians. so im not saying that. im not saying Muslims are peaceful..im saying that the problem isnt one specific religion but ALL religion.

You can't blame peoples acts on what their religion is, the extremists just use religion as an excuse, even if they weren't Muslim, they would probably be a murderer or in an insane asylum. You can't have the preconception of Muslims all being extremists, in any religion there are murderers, rapists, et cetera, it is just that because of the current situation, you see more murderers, who happen to be Muslim.

Religious fanaticism is. But muslim fanaticism is the most widespread, and organised currently.

To get rid totally of religion, it's not possible. Even if it is, people would still be fighting over some stupid ideology or another. (capitalism vs communism anyone?)

muslim fanaticism has become a force comparable to the Mafia in scope within the Muslim religion. Probably even more pervasive. Moderate Islamists are afraid to speak out for fear of their safety. Many nations are afraid as well. It will take an incredible effort from brave people to win back their religion. If they do not it will regress further into barbarity and hypocracy.
