I got inspired by the "Which Whiskey?" thread and decided to poll the world (or at least NS) on which alcoholic spirit is the best. Each type of booze has its own benefits but which one reigns supreme?
Well, what is it? Me, I prefer a good rum (note: not Bacardi) over anything.

I do like Mount Gay. It is good stuff. Pusser's and Barbancourt are also great options.

Rum man myself, though I've yet to find an irish whiskey I'd turn down.
Sadly no on the absinthe. I'd love to try it but I do believe it's illegal here in the States, something about people drinking it seein' green fairys and all.
Damn residual influence of paranoid puritanical ideals, damn it to hell.
I wonder if it is anything like drinking shots of straight Everclear. ...that's a night I don't remember....

Anyway, I drink things like hobgoblin on principle, but for a spirit I'd choose cognac. Or glenmorangie
