Everyone: Place your bets on my SAT score.

I just took the SAT II Spanish test today and I think I did fairly well. I put in minimal studying for it because I felt I pretty much knew my stuff being in an AP spanish class this year.

Anyway...

I'm allowing everyone to place bets on what you think I got. I'll find out my exact score in 2 weeks, so you all have until then to guess.

To give you a guideline, I think I got a 650.

If you want, ask me questions about myself so as to give you a better idea of my capabilities.

Person closest to my score gets a prize!

ochocientos!

I wish.

that reminds me...

I hope everyone understands that on any SAT II possible scores range from 200 to 800. 800 being the highest, and a perfect score.

Maybe you should start by explaining the gradation of the SAT results so that we non-USians have at least a fair chance of making a rudimentarily educated guess.

look right above your reply.

points go up by increments of 10 i believe. There are 85 multiple choice questions on the test.

1 part is fill in the word in the sentence. (i.e. Mi hermana ____ en la cocina/ answer= esta) (grammar)

2nd part is correcting long paragraphs, similar to part one but in paragraph form, series of sentences. (grammar)

3rd part is reading comprehension. Reading paragraphs and advertisements and then answering combinations of specific and general questions based on understanding. (Comprehension)

for every wrong question you lose 1/3 of a point. No penalty for blanks, however, and 1 point for each question.

There are 4 possible multiple choice answers per question.

The test is 1 hour long.

I only left one blank, and I know for SURE I got 1 comprehension question wrong. So it wont be an 800.

Hopefully that gives a better understanding.

cake.

To express that which is not known as a fact. Subjunctive is to express doubt, disbelief, uncertainty... non-factual stuff.

Sinceramente espero que tengas una muy buena calificación en tu examen, especialmente porque es algo extraño encontrar en NS a alguien interesado en aprender español...con respecto a la apuesta, puede ser un puntaje de 674...¿que premio se lleva el ganador?

I have confidence in your ability...though I've never met you, and know absolutely nothing about you, except that you have a NationState, and have taken a SAT II Spanish test. So I reckon about 720. What's the prize anyway?

Lo siento, pero las calificaciones se suben en incrimentos (i think thats the word) de 10. Entoces, un numero mas conveniente es 670.

The prize isn't anything tangible, but you'll like it if you have a sense of humor.

Scores go up by 10, so round that to 550.

And If I do get that, I will, seriously, jump off a bridge.

Of course, but I was more interested in the situations you would use it, like, say, after some sorts of expressions, or in special clauses, if you catch my drift...

well, so, 690...about the words, you were very close. but is "incremento";"entonces";"número" and "más", you're in the right way, go on :)

I can't do accents typing and those were typos. Pardon my fast fingers.

:D No problem , even who speaks spanish often forget the accents (like me, sometimes)...and my fast fingers delete the previous reply, i don't know why.

Oh man, rather unrelated to your SAT score, but....

As I read anything that's written in Spanish, it honestly looks like a bunch of typos of someone speaking Italian to me... for alot of things anyways.

Yeah I'm taking Italian... lol. Half the time I get the reverse too, if I speak italian to someone on the net, they always think I'm mispelling things in Spanish.
