I think men who have HIV/AIDS should have vivisectimies so if they do have sex thay can't have children and so the virus cannot be spread further. What do you think?

The virus can be spread by blood, not just semen.

Dosn't that just mean they can't have kids with AIDS, but can still give it to their partner?

How about we find a way to make it an airborne virus? That should sove everything nicely.

nope that just wont do it

(is there some place in the world where vasectomies are called vivisectimies? or are we talking about some other procedure that ive just never heard of?)

anyway

thats not the major way hiv is spread, men could still infect WOMEN who are after all the actual source of children (meaning they could get infected then bear the child of a non-infected/not sterilized man) , it wouldnt stop an infected man from being promiscuous and spreading disease to many many other men and women. it wouldnt stop the spread of hiv through the sharing of needles, it wouldnt stop the spread of hiv through blood tranfusions/reuse of needles in less developed countries.

it would perhaps stop men who hoped to have children someday from getting tested.

id go with education and testing. few people are eager to have children who are going to die of a terrible disease.

The problem with the retardo plan is that if a guy knows he has HIV/AIDS then he isn't going to go around trying to have babies.

I have a hard time believeing that you are serious, because that is one of the dumbest things I ever heard. Besides being cruel the idea wouldnt even work. Childbirth isn't even the most prevelent cause of AIDs in most countries. Even in Africa where birth is a major cause it would simply present greater problems. In South Africa 2.5 million people would be unable to reproduce.

Indeed. Everyone has special glucose-nutrient solutions stored in pouches in their artificial skins and it is administered intravenously in precisely the right proportiones to minimize excretion. Which is collected in special catch pockets and ejected at the same time the nutrient pouches are refilled. This is done at special automated terminals.

How is this suggestion dumb? If someone who has HIV can't have kids, yes they'll spread it to their partner, but it decreases the risks of having an HIV+ child. This is a wonderful idea! Bravo!

If you really wanted to stop the spread, you could have a mandatory test, execute anyone who came out positive or didn't show up... It'd be cheaper than lamination, and shotgun shells are cheaper than nutireint packs. Or, make aids colonies... Leper colony style.

Yes. But people would probably object to that.

You could probably get people to go along with lamination with a little convincing because it sounds kind of cool.

Very few people have these tests anyway, and how would you monitor who got positive and who got the vasectomy or not.

HIV originated when African tribes would eat the brains of monkeys and get the HIV virus. That's how it started in Africa and it spread via sex and mother to child. Wars broke out involving Africa and Caucasian and Asian nations and the soldiers had sex with HIV+ women and brought it home with them, had sex with their wives which spread to the kids. Badda bing badda boom. AIDS.

Honestly, most guys would rather die than not have sex, and you don't have to give people a choice about the colonies. If you want, you could just kill everyone. That'd eliminate any problems associated with the disease, and also eliminate starvation, homelessness, herpes, the clap, and terrorism.

Its a really dumb idea for a few reasons:

1. "Vivisectomy", according to my knowledge of Latin, means to cut the life out of someone. If you are advocating killing all men with AIDS then that's just inhuman.

2. If you mean "vasectomy", then it's still a dumb idea. As several before me have mentioned, fathers passing AIDS on to children doesn't happen very often, except in cases of incest. The MOTHER passes AIDS to the child.

3. If you mean castration, this would work to a certain degree preventing the spread of AIDS, assuming you would get ANYONE to take the test. More likely, since "most men would rather die than stop having sex" and they would probably rather pass on AIDS than get castrated.

4. This doesn't address the number of women that already have the disease, or cases of the disease being spread by blood transfusion or shared needles.

5. Have you ever heard of condoms? I understand the US government websites have removed information on condoms, but to my knowledge they have not yet outlawed them. Watch for upcoming laws outlawing condoms and shoes for women.

so you think our money and efforts would be better spent on hunting down infected people and forcing them to be sterilized rather than in education and testing. this huge stimatizing of hiv would only serve to drive it underground. no one would get tested if they could avoid it and everyone would start doing whatever needed to be done to thwart the system.

i really think its better to be NICE about it, educate people, make the tests cheap and quick, and council people on the hazards of having children if infected. the number of aids cases in children of people who knew they were infected at the childs conception is pretty small. its not a good use of our resources.
