There are many, which do you prefer?

I wrote so few options in order to get it out quicker. I didnt include none because if you dont like Classic Rock you deserve to be shot, and if you're shot how can you click none?

You didn't think that movie is one of the most incredible things ever? You must not be too artistic, because some of the art in it was so astonishing and impossibly impressive. Especially the morphing between different objects. Not to mention the symbolism was quite elaborate. And the music was pretty damn good, to boot. What was actually bad about it?

Ive heard some say metal some say rock, its about 50/50, I wouldnt have included them since it is so close, so I just went into the more recent past, and they are considered rock, so they we go, rock.

Yep, that's it. I'm just not artistic enough to appreciate The Wall. That and the fact that the album (who cares about the movie?) is pretentious, pompous, and self important whining, wrapped up in commercial pandering to a prepubescent audience.

Welcome to the Machine, Animals, and Dark Side of the Moon are all far more artistic, showing more musical talent and lyrical originality. Obscured by Clouds, Meddle, and even Ummagumma (the first Floyd album I purchased - check out "Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict") are all more creative.

The Wall was the beginning of the end for Floyd as they ventured into commercial pap.

Wait a minute, why are the Beatles not getting any votes, as they are the best rock band ever?

I didn't even vote for them, for some reason I voted for "Other". I think I dismissed them in this poll because, for me, they seem to have a timeless quality to me, and don't quite fit the genre.

Is that an accurate discription?

The only way I will believe this is if you are 15 and consider yourself too cool for their earlier stuff.

Listen to the White Album, Abbey Road, Revolver, and Sgt. Pepper and get back to me.

The great thing about Neil Young is that he has stayed true to the roots of rock and roll - which is not about videos or gold records or super model girlfriends, but rather the music. Neil keeps experimenting and doesn't give a damn about changing musical tastes or current fads and fashions.

Listen to Why Don't We Do It In the Road, I Am the Walrus, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Come Together, Get Back, The Ballad of John and Yoko, and Revolution.

They aren't heavy, but they sure aren't soft.

In My Life, Hey Jude, A Day in the Life, or Happiness is a Warm Gun are soft, but they are among the greatest songs ever written.

About everything I listen to could be considered 'classic rock', my timeline is from the late 60's to early 90's, and I listen to almost nothing current (Because it's all a) crap or b) rehashed from previous decades). I guess I'd have to say Joy Division.. because they are my favorite band, although I've never heard of them labeled classic rock. As far as typical classic rock bands - Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Doors, and King Crimson, are all great... some arguably classic rock favorites of mine include: The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, The New York Dolls, The Ramones, Dead Boys, The Germs, Fear, Kraftwerk, Can, Television, The Feelies... basically I love 70's rock in general.

I think mainstream rock is going through a dull phase at the moment, but there are still plenty of good rock bands.

Where music is really happening these days, IMO is in electronica and extreme metal.

Those of you who say the Beatles are too soft are listening to the wrong Beatles songs--they evolved hugely over the years. The White Album, especially disk two, is filled with songs that ROCK. And while some people may qualify Hey Jude as a soft-rock song, the screams of Lennon and McCartney at the song's climax can hardly be regarded as anything but passionately inspiring.
Anyway, I love the Beatles. I could never choose anyone else. Think about it you guys: There COULDN'T BE a Led Zeppelin if it weren't for the Beatles. They started that Revolution. They cross all borders. There just isn't ever going to be a better band. Some come close. But none are better. However, I also love:
The Who
The Kinks
Led Zeppelin
Clapton
Hendrix

How could I not?
