Until our accursed bipartisan system is changed, I must vote for either a Democrat or Republican in order for my vote to matter. Therefore my vote for Kerry would still be a vote for Kerry.

You mean again or didn't you hear he already has embarrashed us.

Canada move to America: then we will have enough votes to keep Bushites from being elected (Bushites are people that act like Bush)

No, actually, if you do not vote for one of the two main candidates, then your vote really is pretty much wasted. The only thing 3rd parties have done recently are to make Democrats more friendly to environmentalists, because of Nader. That's all those small parties do: influence the agenda. And for anyone who voted for Nader in 2000 in a battleground state, as much as I wish he could be president, he can't, and I hate you all. Yes, Gore was pathetic for losing and he has no real excuse for not being president, but...but I hate Bush.

I sincerely hope you do not limit your view of third party candidates to Nader (who really had no party this time, anyway).

In a non-swing state, a vote for either major party is a wasted vote. You already have a damn good idea of where your EVs are going, so why vote for a party that is definitely going to win (or lose, depending on which major party and which state). That particular wasted vote argument works equally as well against major parties in all but a handful of states.

If the third party votes are influencing the major parties, then guess what, they aren't wasted. There's an effect. And honestly, I don't give a damn what banner changes are made under if the changes lead toward something I believe in.

And you're never going to have a choice outside of the supposed lesser of two evils if you always vote for those two evils.

Seems like a biased thread. Who is "Eutrusca"? Or is that an "in" joke, that only Kerryists get. I didn't get it (fortunately).

One big problem with the system right now is that if a member of a third party votes for their candidate, then they are pulling votes away from the lesser of two evils and allowing the greater evil a better chance of winning.
And you're never going to have a choice outside of the supposed lesser of two evils if you always vote for those two evils.
Actually, this isn't true. Even though I did vote for the lesser of two evils, I am still planning on changing the system to give third parties better odds. My plans are still under development, but they mostly revolve around the Constitutional right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The problem is that in the eyes of many, neither party is the lesser evil. They are both equally detestable.

As to your other point, good luck. Seriously.

You didn't pay much attention to the election, did you? No more than 4 states were won by more than a 5-7% margin - and in most "non-swing" states there are a significant number of people who simply don't vote because of the bullshit rhetoric you are spouting. Had these people voted, the election could have been *very* different.

Eutrusca is one of those "Bush is a fine, upstanding guy and Kerry is Satan" types. He *didn't* vote for Kerry and thus his "I voted for Kerry and would now vote for Bush" vote was a lie.
