Why are liberals and conservatives so self-centered?

I talk to people everyday, and some of them don't agree with me. It's mindboggling! I am obviously the most brilliant person on the planet. Therefore, my beliefs deserve to be forced onto everybody else. I have a list of quotes from myself that supports my case.

"I am the greatest person alive."

"If you disagree with me, you're dumb. Don't try to deny it. It's your word against mine, and you're dumb."

There are many more on my list, but I'm going to make you search this website to find them.

Now, since I've made a perfecty clear case for my point, you should all respond to tell me that you've changed your ways to mirror mine. You can try to argue that my logic is faulty, based on whatever voodoo that you believe in, but I won't actually read what you write. Instead, I'll say the same things over and over, and then I'll call you a hypocrite. Don't expect me to spell it correctly, though.

Why are liberals and conservatives so self-centered?Because they're human. It's kind of a prerequisite.

I liked your last paragraph. ;)

I think you're cutting everyone with the same knife here, but in my opinion, you're right when it comes to the number of people who'd rather flame than debate. I've seen more republicans than liberals do that, though, but maybe that's just me.

I think the reason is that there are only 2 major parties in the States, with vastly different views. So either you have one view or a totally different view. That makes for some pretty strong dislike, especially when the party leaders encourage that dislike.

"I am the greatest person alive."
 You goddamned self-centered idiot! I am the greatest person alive!

They are "self-centred" because it's hard to get caramel inside them without causing them immense pain.

You know I'm surprised you feel that way.
After all I have a few quotes of my own.

"BastardSword is the smartest person I know" My mom, being kind but its true ;)

" BastardSword is the one who is right 90% of the time." Bun Bun my stuffed rabbit

" Pythagosaurus, is a dinosaur and like them he should be exist." says Baby bear, my stuffed Teddy Bear.

" I'm running for President in 2040, if Bobby on 'Jack and Bobby' can do it...so can I!" Me, after last night's episode.

"All extremists must die!" my freind who was joking lol

So you see you aren't the only one who has supporters. I have supporters who are not me so there.

Is this congenital? My cousin has a congenital nougat centre, and recently the government has cut back on benefits for nougat centred individuals.

So there is not much I can do for him.

Clue number one would be you finding the occasional switchblade lying around the house. The second clue would be finding Baywatch on your TV.

I don't mind the flaming so much as the entire methodology. I see post after post that starts off with a sweeping generalization and a generally arrogant tone. Then, it's expected that people are going to respond without getting defensive. How can anybody expect to learn to understand somebody with this kind of behavior?
