As I see it, this is a blatant show of liberal hypocracy. Note, I do not mean that ALL democrats are hypocrits, only the elitist, and wanna be elitist, show such double talk. Example, the New York Times. During 2004, it ran twenty odd front page stories on Kerry. Half od them sided with Kerry, the rest were neutral. Bush's story was the opposite. Almost every single front page story was against Bush. Also the little fact that the NYT hasn't endorsed a republican president or candidate in several elections.

CBS.. C'mon folks. I do not believe that Rather was talking with his buddies, telling them to get a fake anti-Bush document. I do belive, however, that he was very eager to get the document, enough that he disregared the expert that said the document was forged. Funny how that's exactly what O'Reilly said...

I could go on and on, but the point is that, yes there are a few right wing nuts on Fox (*cough cough* Sean Hannity) but Fox is not a Republican show (in fact there are as many liberals on fox as conservatives), and is far less biased than CNN ever was.

While liberal, I still thank-you for what you said about Dan Rather. I think that he was certainly biassed to a point that he was willing to believe that the fake documents were true, and I can't understand why there was so much outrage against him. The guy did pleanty of great things during his career, those people just hate liberalism in general. The whole Guard Documents thing is about the same as when the Clinton/Gennifer Flowers affair was reported- both stories lacked credible evidence, but that one happened to be true. There is no moral difference between those investigations.

Cause they're sensationalist. I've noticed this for a while now. During 9/11, CNN was replaying footage of the second plane hitting. Fox News was playing footage of people jumping to their deaths.

I've noticed that the US broadcast news tends to be more biased to one side or another than the newspapers (NYT being an obvious example). My instinct would be that it's to do with competition (which is non-existent for most newspaper). Up until recently I guess the received wisdom was that only left-wingers watched the news and so stations competed to grab as many as possible. Now FOX has changed that wisdom it'll be interesting to see what happens.
