the teacher made us a write a paper in class, i got about 4 and a half hadn written pages, it was about the purpose of folktatles the teacher requires us to have a MINIMUM of 4 cinderella stories and 3 articles about cinderella (most of which are irrelevant to the purpose of the folktale) and then she complains about my paper because it has too much cinderella shit in it
really? it does? no shit, maybe you shouldnt require us to have a MINIMUM of 4 cinderella story cites and 3 other articles

Are you sure you aren't providing us with a slightly one sided story here?

Naw...where would you ever get that idea from such a slanted argument?

how do yo uget slanted from that
requirements for the paper: 3-5 written pages on the purpose of a folktale, 4 cinderella cites, 3 cinderella article cites (which amazingly had NOTHING to do with the purpose of a folktale)
complaint: paper had too much cinderella stuff in it
idiots

Yes, it is quite obvious that English class is your problem. It isn't your inability to spell, capitalize, or punctuate correctly. You also have absolutely no problem clearly expressing thoughts and ideas through writing.

Why did you cite articles that had nothing to with folktales, if that was the purpose of the paper.

before I cast judgement I need to hear the purpose of the assignment, and not in some sarcastic manner, no, I need to hear the way it would be written on the syllabus.

Perhaps from your subjective explanation. If you were more objective, people might take you more seriously.
3 cinderella article cites (which amazingly had NOTHING to do with the purpose of a folktale)
Can you really say that that is not indicative of a slant? You are opinionating your information.

let me reiterate this
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
the teacher REQUIRED 3 article cites (all irrelevant, stupid book) and 4 cinderella cites MINIMUM

I want the GOAL, not the requirement. I want to know the "Analyze this so as to show whatever."

no, i am not. that is the truth. every single article in the cinderella section of the text book are irrelevant to the purpose of the folktale, they all talk about cinderella and sibling rivalry and oedipal complexes, its psychoanalytical bullshit, if you dont believe me go look up the book: latest edition of writing and reading across the curriculum

Well post the essay and let us all see. There's a difference between citing Cinderella seven times and writing your entire essay around seven Cinderella citings.

You clearly aren't getting my point. In my English 110L Course I wrote an essay, and the GOAL was
"Analyze the illustrations and their relation to the text in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.'"

The goal is obviously to explain the purpose of folktales in society.
Language Arts 9 Honors is way too easy a course for me. I've got somewhere around a 98% grade.

Haha, I always laugh when Americans scold others for spelling incorrectly, and they say capitalize. My automatic spell checker in my brain screams at me WRONG, then I have to remind it of the special American way.
Eh. Stupid, pointless post in a stupid, pointless thread.
Carry on.

Given, it's not incorrect, but it's not preffered.
I dont know, perhaps in Australian English we overcompensate away from American English (despite Microsoft Word thinking English (AU) is the same as English (US)).

Wouldn't mind seeing that essay posted ...
As it stands right now, you just sound like someone that doesn't know how to write an essay properly; whom also has a short fuse and cannot properly convey their message clearly to others as to 'how dumb the teacher is'.

I agree. Let's see the paper. Now, the way you've described it, the teacher does sound a tad bit unreasonable for strictly defining the sources you could use for your essay, but you've given us no evidence that your entire essay didn't just consist of "Cinderella Cinderella Cinderella" 500 times.

The Oxford english dictionary favors -ize, however as you rightly state, -ise is not incorrect. It's really just a matter of asthetics I suppose. I, being from the US, prefer -ize.
Now analyze, we can have a good set to over.
