London Calling is amazing.

Not the best album ever, but amongst them. Up there IMO with Abbey Road and Led Zeppelin IV. It's one of the very few albums in which I like every song, although I do have some particular favorite tracks. 'Spanish Bombs' in particular is one of my favorite songs of all time by any band.

I love the clash but i've never actually heard that album, I've just got 'the essential clash', or something, my favourite song is rock the casbah, i just love it, it rules,
my favourite band are the ramones though, that really shows my deep, intellectual side, hmmmmmm......

Mine is quite broad but not what i'd call random, i like punk , grunge, rock, metal, that sort of thing

Nothing wrong with the Ramones. I just happen to prefer the Clash personally. I'm not actually a huge punk fan as such ... usually, my tastes are more towards (nowadays) mostly classic rock. I just don't find a lot in the really new music that captures my interest. Most of my favorite albums are from the 70's and 80's.

One of the reasons that I think the Clash are so great is that they've got punk attitude, but especially on London Calling, there's a wide range of music. It's also nice that it fits on one CD.

'Rock the Casbah' is a sweet song. But I'd say 'Clampdown', 'Spanish Bombs, 'London Calling' and 'Train In Vain (Stand By Me)' are arguably better. There's also some good stuff from their earlier albums.

God I detest Celine Dion. Why does SHE have to be THE Canadian music export? Her and Shania Twain ... ugh. There's lots of good music up here, but only the mediocre stuff seems to end up being popular in the US. At least recently, because back in the day (before I was born) Neil Young, the Guess Who and Rush were all big stars.

I'm more of a Sandinista! man myself. So shoot me. Yes, it has its obvious flaws, but even taking them into account it remains my favourite Clash LP. It is possibly just simply too large and too long to hold the entire contents in mind at one time, and so with each listen there are new surprises and discoveries.

I've never actually listened to the whole of Sandinsta myself. I do have some songs from it, though, and they're good. 'The Call Up' in particular is a great song.
